My experiment so far seems to have been a success. Two days on and the apple is starting to slowly dry out on my make shift drying apparatus. The only thing I will probably do next time round is choose bigger apples and cut slightly thicker. So far am well chuffed. Perhaps will try pear next time round will have to play and see, but am looking forward to stockpiling lots of apple as I suspect it will come in very useful during the winter months in respect of cakes, tea breads and fruit cakes.
