A few of my favourite things

In the words of the immortal song My Favourite Things as performed by Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
Silver-white winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

.And just a few of mine too in case you hadn't gathered and an excuse to resurrect an old favourite song in the process.

  2. That is a great list. I would like to add a few of my favourite smells ----
    A freshly washed and powdered baby.
    Hay drying in the fields, especially as the day draws to a close.
    Roses, lilac, and lily of the valley.
    Apple pie with cinnamon.
    Bread baking.
    The countryside after a shower.
    Hope you had a great day.
