Quick drop by

Afternoon folks its been busy here in the kitchen this morning.  I have five demijohns soaking in sterilising fluid as we speak and plans to get a lot of wine started in the next few days or so.  I am still going foraging for the elderberries.  There are a lot of jellies and things I have in mind to make and some more elderberry wine.  I think I am just going to have to go out and get a big batch - and then bring them home and do everything elderberry that I can.  I want to try some elderberry syrup and also some pontack sauce this year too.  That is when this awful windy weather has dropped.  It was well stormy overnight here and hasn't been much better, but the sky has brightened up a bit.

I am salivating over the plum mincemeat I started off last night it really is delicious and it hasn't been cooked yet.  That little job will be for later on this evening, but I think I am going to be making some more of this particular variety whilst the plums are out and about.

My grandson has been here today as well  - he is back to school tomorrow - his granddad has made him a proper bow and also done some arrows for him.  He is well chuffed.  However I was a little concerned when he turned round after I gave him a slice of the batch scone that I made last night  - without trying it he said he didn't like it.  I persuaded him to try a bit - he still complained he didn't like it so I left him to it - it would appear that the something he did not like soon got eaten.  I think I am going to have to have words with my step-daughter about what she is actually giving him to eat.

I have managed to get some bulbs planted up too this year and intend to do a few more yet, probably to give as impromptu presents.

Well will have to dash loads going on in the kitchen will report back later.

Take care and keep safe wherever you are.
