I have been partying

It was our works Christmas/New Year Party last night a chance for all the girls to dress up (and the fellas of course) and party on down.  We have a lot of younger girls who have all joined the company in the past year or so and there was a definite sense of competition amongst them.  They all looked fantastic and they are on the whole quite a jolly bunch.  However I have been going to these parties for 19 odd years or so - I am now one of the oldies (although I am not if you get what I mean), but the best part of these parties is meeting up with your friends who although we often work together on a daily basis some of us do not so it is nice to play catch up.  Being spread between three Offices Peterborough, Stamford and Nottingham its just one of those  logistical things and the luck of the draw.

The venue was the William Cecil in Stamford (Years ago used to be the Lady Anne Hotel I believe).  Very lovely surroundings and the room we were in was big enough to party in with a live band (although you could not hear yourself speak at times).  Needless to say most of us were on the dance floor at one time or another.  I am now paying the price for all the wobbling and have had to slap some Ibruprofen on this morning as my muscles are protesting.

Now a real leveller back down to earth - housework - brings you right down to basics.

Its cold here in Peterborough and I have the heating on but at least the sun is out.  I think its about 2 degrees at the moment.

Hopefully catch you later on.

    1. I have always enjoyed a good dance session especially at the family parties but then again the men and particularly my uncles used to rock and roll and drag the nieces on the floor. Used to be good fun especiall at family parties. My Dad used to do the same. There used to be a residents association dance every so often where we lived in the village and mum did not particularly want to go but she did not mind dad taking me. On this particular occasion I saved up my baby sitting money and bought a lovely long dress, had my hair done and a tiny bit of makeup (dad did not approve) and off we went. During the course of the evening one of the neighbours had clocked my dad with a woman she did not know and she was told who I was but wouldn't have it she thought my dad was carrying on with someone and was giving him short shrift. In the end she had to come over and have a word then she realised that it was me. I was only 13 years old. Then she was okay. Hope you are all okay.

      Take care

    1. Hi BB in my heyday but my muscles area not as cooperative these days. Cannot get right down to do the twist like I used to which is very frustrating. I had to put some ibruprofen gel on but am comfier now. Best sort of work out if the feet cooperate. Stamford is about 15 miles from us straight up the A1. Its a very interesting town lots of little passageways interconnecting but you have to know your way around lots of expensive shops and the buildings in the town have been used on many a tv programme. Lots of interesting shops. I was at College there for two years and it is somewhere we go shopping every so often. The Cheese Shop I use is there as well. Hope you are keeping well.
