Good news!

I attended for interview this morning and was offered the job there and then which has been accepted. The job is very different to anything else I have done, but in for a penny in for a pound and besides a change is as good as a rest and any income is better than no income in the greater scheme of things.  I have been told that full training will be given one to one to start with and that once the initial training is over if you suit there are many other opportunities that could come up more in accordance with my existing skills.  They were impressed with  my skill set and experience but also said that the more mature person has a better work ethic overall.  We shall see what we shall see.

These comments gave me a bit of a boost to tell you the truth as I have been putting applications in for jobs never to hear any more.  It appears to be the modern way but it had got me down a little bit.  So the quickness of this has taken me a little by surprise to say the least.  There is an awful lot to take in and to learn.

So I am pleased and looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

So from a lady that lunches I am rejoining the working brigade imminently.

Phew!

Catch you soon.

    1. Hi BB, one of the easiest interviews I have ever undertaken. Was not nervous. Both very nice. A lot to take in though but you are given a very thorough training. Will only know if I like it by doing it and early days are always strange. Will be interesting working for a large company no that my previous one was really small - well it is compared to this one! It is going to be talking to customers regarding delivery and arrangements for items . I listened in this morning on some calls for about 20 minutes or so. We can only see what we can see at the end of the day. The whole process has been very very quick. She was back to me in less than half an hour after receiving my CV and covering letter. Hope you are keeping well and that the asthma has settled down again. Glad that you have had Tam there for a little while. I hope Keith's eye has settled down as well after his recent surgery. Special time for her and for you. Have just caught up on your blog and that cake looks lush and the flowers are glorious. I start work on 23 September! Take care Tricia xx

    2. Keith mending nicely, cake tasty, and Tam is here for a while yet (I hope). Things a bit up in the air with her situation. Asthma took a sudden nosedive today (typical) but I'll live. I will have to get Tam to do gardening bits so I can avoid any moulds. Your new job sounds "doable" so good luck.

    1. Hi Jennieuk, thank you for your good wishes. Yes am going to be very busy. Have said before tis only the depth that varies. The company I will be working for seem to value more mature members of staff just as highly as the younger ones which is very refreshing. Now a strong learning curve me thinks. Hope you and yours are keeping well too. Take care Tricia xx

  7. Hello Rowan, thank you so much. It is going to be unlike anything I have done before but they seemed very interested in the fact that I had keyboard skills and client skills as well. Will see where it takes me. Any kind of growth always takes you outside your comfort zone so it is going to be very much a challenge. Hopefully will get there. Hope you and yours are keeping well. Take care Tricia xx
