Organising My Craft Work

The CoOp have had an offer on with some work boxes with a removable tray in so i have snaffled a few. My idea is to have a box for cross stitch a box for hand sewing and patchwork and other craft items so that i can stack and store what i am working on and readily find everything in one place. I usually manage to misplace things along the way and as my memory is not as good as it used to be i thought this might be a safer and less stressful way of working for me.

I thought if i worked on the UFOs in this fashion it would be a good way of getting them done and dusted. In reality i have only purchased three boxes but that is enough to be going on with.  I did go back for some more but they did not have any left ax they were on special promotiSson £7 each or 2 for £9. At least all the necessary items will be in one place as i work project by project.

The boxes at the moment just have bits and pieces in them that i have come across as i have been sorting bits and bobs out. One of the boxes has some new embossing folders and cutters for my Big Shot.

I also fell lucky the other day in Hobbycraft as I came across a Sissix Bigz Die reduced for making Poinsettia flower decorations out of paper or fabric so that will come in very handy for making some Christmas decorations.  I have in mind at the moment some more stockings but also some Poinsettia Garlands and also trims for the table knapkin holders etc.  I think I was in the right place at the right time. Now to find my felt bag and have a little play.

So I have more than a few things to play with in due course

I am still experiencing problems with the Internet its still hit n miss.  Please bear with me.  Take care Pattypan x

    1. Hi Dawn I do try to be organised when I work but it does not always happen but am seriously working on it. I am also rediscovering things that i had forgotten i had started so have a massive backlog of stuff to get through too but I am determined to do it as there is too much lovely stuff to waste and too much hard work already done. I will get there one day. I cannot get into the craft room at the moment as OH has man flu and I dont want it under any circumstances. I hope to do far more crafting this year. Now just have to make the timeAre you working on your heirloom panel still. Take care. Pattypan x

  2. I shall check out our local hobbycraft this morning when I go out. That poinsettia set looks like a very useful die cut. Thanks for posting it

  3. Some good buys there, and it's nice to be organized (says she, who is most definitely NOT!) I really need to go and tidy my craft cupboard in the sitting room (it is a lovely old corner cupboard with lots of room) as it is overflowing with "stuff". A rainy day job - I have a list of those.

    1. Hi Jennie how wonderful to have a large closet in your sitting room for storing your crafty bits
I would be in seventh heaven. I am rediscovering loads of ufos that i had forgotten i had started some going back 3o years or more. I have also obtained some lovely part worked pieces from ebay to work as well so I am giing to have my hands full. I also have some new projects in mind some for Christmas presents and some for the house. Realistically though I can only do what I can do but am determined to organise myself better on this front. And of course theres all the other stuff too. There seems to be a lot of rain and snow at the minute so I think you will be sorting your cupboard very soon. Take care sweetie x Pattypan x

  5. Hi Tracy. I love crafting when i can find the time to sit and do it but real life often gets in the way. As i have said before this year i intend to concentrate more on a home made Christmas and I am making a concerted effort to achieve this from the beginning of the year. I had acquired all sorts of bits and pieces to do for Christmas just gone craftwise. Christmas decoration wise etc that because of the operation timing but will get there in the end.I love seeing other peoples work and getting an idea and then playing until it becomes a reality. The crafting helps me relax. I tend to go for months without buying anything and then when i do see things it gets a bit naughty as i usually see sevrral things together. So we hsve famine and feast. I have several Bucilla kits i bought about 10 years ago That are felt based Christmas stockings. Tree skirt. Door hangers etc that i would really like to get to this year. They are built up three dimensionally with hand sewing embroidery and embellished with sequins and beads. I also want to get going with my beaded heirloom baubles again as they look stunning on the tree. So i have lots of ideas and plans but only so much time to do it in. I can only do what i can do but we shall see what we shall see. If you look back over the back issue of my blig you will find it
Littered with lots of crafty stuff. Do you do any crafting at all. Take care and keep warm and safe. Pattypan xx
