German Spice Squares
I am very partial to spices and to me that is what Christmas is about on a culinary front the mix of heady aromatic spices all blended together in all sorts of different foods, whether it be the Christmas Cake, the Christmas pudding or home made mincemeat to me there is always room for more, including this recipe and also my home made Rock Buns where I use both nutmeg and Mace. Ingredients: 12 oz flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 2 tablespoon cocoa powder 3 large eggs 4 oz soft brown sugar 6 fl oz clear honey Method Sift the flour, salt, baking powder, spices and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl.
