Morning

Good morning.  It would be nice just once to be able to come too peacefully in my own time without a Jack Russell landing on me desperate for fuss and determined to get me up playing bouncy bouncy everywhere and not being too gentle with where her paws land!   Its a lovely day here in Peterborough the sun has his hat on and there is no rain.  It has rained again all night, but it is so nice to see the sun again.  I didn't put the heating on last night even though it went really cold I just threw another quilt on the bed as I don't do cold very well and its always lovely to cosy on under a quilt  so comfy. Demetri escaped again last night.  Not the most fortuitous night to escape; I left the window open for him but it would appear that he did not come in until about 6 am.  When I got up he was on his blanket under the table and looked a pretty sorry sight - completely knackered desperately trying to get some shut eye and there was us lot rovin...

Morning

It's cold here in Peterborough today  - very cold.  I will put the heating on in a bit but at the moment I am moving about so I have a  thick jumper on and the tumble drier is also doing double duty getting the quilt I have just washed dry and then it will be aired.  I am currently nursing a hot mug of tea.  I did get up earlier but didn't feel too clever and got myself a mug of hot ribena and a couple of paracetamol and went back under the covers for a little while.  I am now up and ready to get on with things everything is slowly going back into the Pantry nearly finished.  Phew.  But when that is finished it's on to a few more things in the kitchen cooking wise.  We are having  later on a roast chicken with all the trimmings i.e. bread sauce, stuffing and probably some Yorkshire Puds as well with Mash, Roasts and veg.  I also want to get my last batch of ginger beer on and also some apple pop.    Must remember to g...

Morning

Morning all  - just a quick pop in - its raining here in Peterborough and a little windy, but the sky seems bright; every so often you hear a car go by with their wheels making that sheeh sound as they go through the wet - autumn is well and truly here with all her different shades of colour and habits that are peculiar to her season of mellow mists and fruitfulness.  The month that traditionally slips us through from the warm to the cooler to the cold. I have lotds to do dotay as per usual.  I hope to get to play for a while too; but we shall see what we shall see.  I am going to be backwards and forwards I suspect for the best part of the day, but I promise I will catch up later on when the chores are dealt with. I had a very pleasant evening last night with my friend, we have planned a couple of recipes that she wants to have a go at on the preserving front.  I suspect that the next couple of recipes she would like to have a go at are the Plum Mincemeat a...

Morning

Its Saturday I am home and I was hopeful of a lay in this morning, after another busy week but no such luck. No peace for the wicked although I am stiill trying to work out what I have done wrong.   However the sun peeping through the cream blind in my bedroom has put paid to that; seducing me and speaking of a lovely day to come and one where the daylight cannot be wasted so I am downstairs. The birds have also been singing their hearts out - I love to hear them. Tyson has gone - he loves these lighter days and does not have a moment to spare and all the animals are fed.  I am awake, downstairs with a Jack Russell curled into the small of my back as I tip tap away at the keyboard preparing this post.  Its nice to be on my own (apart from the company of my animals) space to recharge and put my random thoughts into some kind of order.  Squeak has now joined me - her and Missy are never far away when I am home both good friends but both like fuss from mum and if you fu...

Beautiful Morning

Its lovely here this morning the sun is shining it is mild and warm and best of all I don't have to go to work. I love mornings like this so calm so beautiful everything going at its own pace sometimes hurried sometimes slow. But at times like this I want to be in the countryside every morning, breathing in the fresh clear air waking up to the sound of birdsong coming to gracefully and simply being. I was woken by a young cockerel crowing this morning, someone who owns their own house is keeping chickens further down the street; he is becoming a regular alarm clock for me and I find myself missing him if I don't hear him. Not everyone appreciates natures alarm clock though but reminds me of when I used to stay at my Nan's and "the alarm clock" used to go off regular as clockwork (her cockerel). Well have things to do places to go am popping down to the hospital later on but have a load of things want to catch up on. OH half is away fishing so tomorrow morning ...
