A Little Catch Up
I apologise for going on a lot about crafting at the moment, but for the best part that is what I have been doing when I can this week. In reality, I do not get to play with my crafting as much as I would like to and I have an awful lot to do.
On Tuesday evening whilst sat down watching TV, I started to fringe my long knitted scarf. I have worked half-way down one side of the scarf tonight. I will go back and finish that side off and maybe start the second side or even complete it to get it out of the way. A concerted effort will be going in.
On Tuesday night I did not get to anything on the craft front at all. I did sort out a box of food though.
Once the scarf has been fully fringed, that will leave the two neck shawls which have been neatened up in readiness for their fringing. I will keep at the fringing until the three projects are completed and then I will show the finished pictures. I will then go back to the knitted mittens and get on with that until completed. Then it will be the hat, and if enough wool which I think there is I will then knit some wrist warmers in order that I have a full set to wear come the winter months.
I will then probably get back to the Spirit multi-coloured jumper that I am part way through. There are a lot of knitting projects to complete as there are a lot of UFOs, however I am determined to work through them one at a time and get them out of the way with. Knitting does not come naturally to me, and a lot of what I know is by growing up watching my mother knit. However I do not find it easy to read patterns and interpret what needs to be done. Each time I get to know a pattern I learn more about what can be done and how to approach it. Or I have been un-ravelled (thank you Joan). One of the reasons I am concentrating on the knitting at the moment, is that come the autumn I am going to need warm jumpers and clothing, with me feeling the cold so badly, so if they are prepped up and ready to wear, I can just go to them when I need to knowing that I have some decent new warm clothing to wear.
Once some of the knitting is out of the way, I may have a day or two on the sewing machine to deal with some long-term projects that I need to do. Linens for the kitchen, and eco friendly projects are on the cards as well. I do have some Christmas projects to deal with that I have had for many years. Might try and get those done and out of the way with as well. If I can get them prepped up, just to batch sew that should make life a little easier in the long run and also get them out of the way with. A lot of them are UFOs, just located in different parts of the house and are nowhere near where I have the UFO projects am dealing with at the moment.
However, today (Thursday) has been out of necessity a kitchen day again. Needs must at the moment.
Plans for today include:
Preparing reduced Red Peppers for Dehydrating and drying. These are on the go! Done.
Preparing oranges to bottle in syrup for the Pantry shelf. Might add some Grand Marnier liqueur to the syrup for some of the bottles. Oranges to be segmented or kept whole. Peel will be used to dry and also in orange sugar for baking; these may well be done this evening. Delayed until Friday
