A bit of a Low Key day today

Woke up not firing on all cylinders so have had an easier day.  Not what was planned at all.  Therefore have took my time today and just pottered, perhaps aimlessly with different things, but it all adds up in the end.  Weatherwise, the Sun was out for a bit earlier on, but it disappeared and then for the best part of the afternoon it has been grey and I think a tad chilly or at least that is my take on things as my digits have been going blue!

Have a very large pumpkin roasting in the oven to do things with for tomorrow.  So a little "prepping" done in readiness in preparation and the hopes of being able to do some preserving at long last.  If I get my way I will be in the kitchen preserving for the best part of the day.  However, we all know that in real life there are often "speed bumps" that get in the way of what we actually would like to get done. I am therefore planning on an early start as I am in need of getting some goodies on the Pantry shelf and have been itching to get things done for a little while.

We are having some chicken strips for tea tonight.  After last night's curry which was substantial and very filling, and tasty, we are not as hungry this evening.  We are blessed to have the choice.  However have also been looking at what is in the fridge at the moment and will probably make some Broccoli and Blue cheese soup for part of tomorrow's eating as I have both Broccoli and some Blue cheese that needs using up.  I am also considering a vegetarian style Lasagna (blue cheese and cheddar, leek, onion, and some broccoli and the dried kale on the Pantry shelf which will be soaked before adding to the Lasagna as well as some roasted veggies.  I have Courgette, Parsnip, sweet potato, pepper, broccoli, leek onion and some garlic that need using up and as I do not like to waste anything at all.  Thought would make up a big pan to use everything up and maybe serve with the minted lamb steaks in the fridge as well as the Lasagna.  I also need to cook the Gammon.

Did not get to the Patchwork last night as I could not find my board.  Have since found and it so am going to have an evening of cutting Patches to get back into the swing of things with my Patchwork.  Low key and slow evening as I have a busy day planned in the kitchen tomorrow.

Not sure if anything on the TV tonight or not!  Might even get to starting a book this weekend.  Wonders will never cease!
