Quote for the day

The quote for today was triggered by a post that Trudie left me and something half remembered from my distant past ; something quite simple in principle but something not easy to do   To thine ownself be true William shakespeare

Cupcake Collars

As you all know last year I bought myself a cupcake baker from John Lewis - please see the link here.  http://tarragonnthyme.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/cupcake-baker.html  In all reality I haven't had much time to play, but come the beginning of May it is my birthday and I thought I would start planning a little ahead with consumables, and things like that and recipes and I though you might all like to have a play as well hence the reason for this early post. The other day  I met my good friend Margaret who is generally into crafts of all sorts and who is very responsible for me  doing crafting of different types. Margaret is the good friend who told me I could craft and that each time I did something I would learn and that there was no such thing as "can't".  Margaret is a beautiful needlewoman in any event but one of her passions is making her own cards and papercrafting.  I was talking to her about cupcake collars and how expensive they were and was t...

Pattypan

Part of this came through to me on Facebook via one of my cousins and I decided to embellish it a little further pad it out a little bit shall we say.  See what you think I don't have an amazing figure or a flat stomach. I'm far from being considered a model but, I am ME.  I could only ever be ME.  I am an individual and proud of it.   I eat lots of food. I have curves. I have more fat than I should. I have deep scars because I have a history.  Everyone has a history  but with some they are a steep learning curve that leave their lessons well imprinted.  If there is a wrong way to do something I usually find it jumping in with both feet!  Some people love me, some like me, some hate me.  I don't find it easy to talk to people as I have always been painfully shy although as I have aged I cover it up and hide it much better than I used to.  Those I can talk to are "My warts n all friends" and with me for life.  I have d...

Rest of the day

Since getting the greenhouses sorted I have come in and set about tea.  I have cooked home made cauliflower cheese, roast chicken, sausagemeat stuffing, carrots, peas, yorkshire puddings, bread sauce, roast potatoes, roast onion with lashings of gravy and it went down very well too.  There is plenty left for tomorrow night's tea so should be a quick meal tomorrow night when I get in.  Must say it was extremely yummy.  My lap has now been commandeered by a certain cat who has decided that I have to stay put and give her some fuss.  I still have to get the other one in. I have been watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I normally meet my friend for lunch on a Monday or a Tuesday but she is on a weeks holiday, lucky girl so I am free to amble round town at my leisure during lunch hour this week.  I always try and get out during the lunch hour to get some exercise and to also get some fresh air. Sorry its short and sweet I am tired out and read...

Walking Missy

We have travelled by car down to but not quite at the riverbank, into playing fields that run alongside the river; we have walked the paths in a circular route in the bright sunshine, noticing the wild vegetation springing into life there is a lot of blossom that has come out and lots of plants that have set buds that could be affected and knocked back by the threatened wintery weather that is due certainly around here come Tuesday. The consequence of this will to be to knock everything back and if the weather is as cold as it says it is going to be affect the blossom ; the weather coming at the wrong time which in turn could impact on the promise of  fruit wild produce and crops to come.  We had a leisurely walk for us (Missy went off like a mini missile as she always does running in amongst the trees and the hedgrows putting up birds and rabbits and  just being mischievious not hurting anything, but running and running just full of fun and enjoying the freedom of the f...

In search of my life path

As I sit writing this in early morning, the sun is shining thank goodness it is a beautiful day; the birds are singing there is the occasional call of the local cockerel and life is running full on.  I always feel much more cheerful when the sun shines it offers so much hope with the turn of the page, a new day on which to write a new script; new avenues to explore and more experiences and adventures individual to us all as our life path is our own, Although I am a firm believer that before we come into this mortal coil, we hand pick those companions we wish to have along the way (i.e. there is a major planning meeting before we are born and we choose our players our companions to accompany us upon our journey, and they appear like actors throughout the course of our lives in different parts and in different life times.  You always recognise there people because you feel that you have known them for a life time .  The only difference in each life time is that we have...
