It has been a quiet day today
I ended up sleeping in late and after the events of yesterday perhaps in the greater scheme of things that is no bad thing and sleep is a good healer.
Demetri was the last of the old school which had consisted of Tyson, Squeak and himself. Now the head of the cats in age is Molly at aged six. Molly is the kitten I took in off the street after she was chucked out by a Polish family who moved and left her outside in bitter cold weather and who subsequently gave me a batch of five kittens. Two of them were found homes for but I still have Molly, (Mum), Tinky Two, Bumble and Mischief.
The others have been looking for Demetri, more so Mischief more than anyone else as she used to spend a lot of time cuddled up to him. She is not the only one. My pets are part of my family.
I am very blessed to have had so many lovely cats over the years but it is never easy when the time comes for them to go. It just never seems long enough. We had had Demetri living with us for about 10 years of age and we think he was about 14 years old.
OH had to work this morning, but he was soon home, and we have for the best part spent the day (him asleep) and me trying to keep myself occupied both by watching a programme and also checking out the Internet researching some future projects including embroidery projects.
For tea tonight we have had a quick tea, home made hot dogs with proper sausages and lots of fried onions which has gone down very well indeed.
Weather has been a bit rough here, but we are a lot better off than other parts of the country so everything to be grateful for.
Catch you soon.

Just checked in. So very sorry for your loss of Dimitri. Our pets are part of the family aren't they?
