Menu for the next few days
After my visit to the supermarket yesterday I decided to put pen to paper to give a rough outline of what we are planning to eat over the next few days. This all being achieved utilising what I have bought and what I have in house. Might still need the odd thing or two, which is nearly always the case in any event, but striving not to if possible. Keeping a lid on the spending is an effort in itself. It is however making me more selective in what I do buy. I am also trying to plan for a new item here or there on the menu as well i.e. planning on getting the ingredients together and then executing the recipe. I really enjoy playing around with new to me recipes and seeing if they work for us on a practical basis.
The Menu is started from yesterday.

Well that is the rough outline. Things are known to change around here quite radically and with very little notice.
I am hoping to get some baking done like the cheese and onion pockets, maybe some Mille-feuilles, scones, a sponge of some sort and some Scotch pancakes. That may change but it is what I am thinking of at the moment.
I also need to make a bread loaf or two and some buns. Brazil nut and Hazelnut cookies are also planned as well. So will see how we get on.
I am in the kitchen again this afternoon with more laundry, and pottering sorting things out. It has been very windy and chucking it down with rain again quite heavily today. A damp grey day. Could be worse have to be grateful for small mercies. Although am housebound and itching to get out and about, it is still not quite warm enough for me. Hopefully that will change in the next few weeks or so.
Catch you soon.
