Belated Birthday surprise

Image
For my day job I work full time as a legal secretary - which trade I have followed for the past 24 years. So it was a really nice surprise when I returned to work this morning to find my desk all decorated up to the nines with banners, a badge and bunting and two helium balloons tied to my chair (have had the feeling that I was going to lift off all day). Wasn't expecting anything but the girls had really gone to town, had a collection and bought a bottle of bubbly, cards, a big 50 badge, the two helium balloons the cards, a bunch of flowers and a pamper pack pressie. I did really well. But for me the best bit was the surprise. Thank you girls.

Naer Cast a Clowt till Mae is owt

This is a well known saying which everyone takes to be don't shed the winter clothing till the month of May is completely out, because basically after May is out traditionally all the bad weather has gone (except for the rare occasion when it has been known to snow). However the May blossom (Hawthorn Blossom) is starting to sprout therefore the May is out so if you feel disposed go on shed your winter clothing and bring out the summer wardrobe.

Over age Tumble tot

Friday evening I came home late as I had been into town to stock up on some essential items for the weekend being as I was going out for the day and evening on Saturday. When I got in I started watering up and I then went into my propogator and found that my seeds had sprouted and needed thinning out. It was getting dark by then and I decided to do some of the pricking out in the kitchen in the light and where it was warm. I managed to achieve this quite comfortably but by the time I had finished it was pitch black outside, but I decided to put the propogator back into the growing house. I was on my way out carrying the propogator in both hands when Squeak decided she was going to do some ducking and diving between my feet and tripped me up literally; at which the propogator went flying out of my hands I fell full length and belted my head on the dining room table leg and sustained a deep gash to my leg in the process. Also managed to sprain my wrist. I felt sick for about 10 or ...

Update on Renovation of the Stool

Well its had its first scrub and brush up which took quite some time as I utilised a small but stiff nail brush together with lots of suds and Oxyclean to tackle the thik ingrained dirt on the string cover. For the first clean it hasn't come up too bad but I still intend to have another go at getting it a bit spicker and spanner before I start on the frame part. If I am not happy with it then I can always replace the seat with sea grass. I also have a small oak framed single stool with oak frame to have a look at in due course. I like stools.
