January - Gardening
January - according to the books (I am only a novice gardener so don't really know) is the ideal time to plant:
Jerusalam Artichokes
Rhubarb
Blackberries
Blackcurrants
Blueberries
Gooseberries
Loganberries
Raspberries
Red and white currants

I have to say that your chances of planting anything at all in my garden right now are round about nil - it's frozen solid! Still, there'splenty of January to go yet:)
ReplyDeleteRowan, I agree I think perhaps it is being a little over ambitious. I am only a novice gardener at the best of times. But this is what the books say! There is so much information out of there but I am not really sure that it is all relevant. My instinct is to start growing seeds at end February/beginning of March under glass but with plants sowing them at the end of September - but I don't really know. Any pointers gratefully received as this is something that I would like to get to grips with long term in any event.
