Happy Birthday to Me

Its my birthday today and it has been gloriously sunny and warm here in Peterborough and I have been at work all day.  Everyone should get their birthday off  you should not have to work it.  However if I had of booked the day off it would have rained down all day.  It has however not been too bad a day - I have had a scuttle full of birthday cards, and some lovely presents and lots of messages on Facebook and emails  from family and friends. 

I had a lovely walk into work this morning in bright sunshine and the cherry blossom is out in full force.  I pass three trees on the way there and until three days ago there was not a flower to be seen tight buds yes and in the past couple of days it has come out in force with large sprays of the lovely pink blossoms and reminded me of the piece of music Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.  The Cherry Tree in the garden is also in full  of wonderful white blossoms.  I am hoping I get to the cherries first this year rather than the birds.

This evening I popped over to my mum's who had made me a birthday cake and bought me some flowers and  gave me some money with which to buy myself something so I think a little trip into town might be in order at some point.
