A very Busy Day
Today has been an exceptionally busy day starting off with the appointment for Missy to have her teeth taken out (it transpires 18 in total). Jack Russells apparently have 42 teeth to start with. It seems to be mostly the back teeth she still has her front ones and her smile. We collected her from the Vets. I had taken a large fleecy blanket with me to wrap her in as it has been cold again today and cold is forecast again for next couple of days. They keep them on a heated pad in the Vets so I was not taking any chances in her being cold. After wrapping her in the blanket she buried her head into my shoulder and promptly nodded off again. She has come through it well despite what has been done to her. She has quite a bit of discomfort at the moment which is natural. She also has a regime of antibiotics and pain killers for some time to come. We have also been told to give her Calpol to help with the pain. (Vet's instructions, but you only give them a very small amount). It is under sixes version and we have managed to get a dose down her but she is not very keen on the Strawberry flavour. This was therefore rapidly followed by a knob of butter which she is fond of. She has eaten some cooked chicken though and every so often is letting us know that she is not a happy bunny and moaning very slowly telling us what has happened to her today. She has been like a child in that she has had to have loads of cuddles. Seems to have gone off her Dad for the time being as he was the one who left her there. She is however very with it, went for a small walk to relieve herself once leaving the Vets and has managed to drink some water. She is however "milking the situation" and telling us a real tale of woe. She also does not like me going far at the moment I seem to be the "Safety Blanket" and reassurance that everything is okay. She is still wrapped in her blanket and has currently nodded off again, still next to me though. We shall see how she is tomorrow.
OH also had some appointments today to deal with and then spent most of the afternoon on the phone. An hour and a half was waiting on the phone as he needed to speak to the bank but he never did get through. Neither could we get through any other way either. He then had to speak with some further people and so I think all in all he spent most of the time on the phone.
Our Polish neighbour R also asked us if she could cut our hedge and our next door neighbour's hedge after cutting her own as she was at home for three weeks and it was driving her nuts. What a lovely thing to do. I really like her in any event, but I shall make sure that a sign of our appreciation will wing its way to her. R has done a really good job of both of the hedges.
Tomorrow we have more appointments and once they are concluded we are heading to the Tip to get rid of some of the rubbish we managed to accumulate prior to Covid 19 and the tip closing. It is now open again. I also have a load of rubbish in the garden which is to go the same way. There will be more to come, but if we get rid of what we have to date it will give us the weekend to get rid of more which is certainly waiting in the wings. Thursday it will be back to the shed. So despite things being very hectic at the moment little by little we are inching closer and closer to finish lines for different things and little by little things are moving. We still have a fair way to go, but as I have said before it is the depth that varies.
Catch you soon.
