Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men
Not much sleep again last night and then G was up at 6:00am. Missy slept on the bed with me last night and relatively speaking we had a quiet night. I did not sleep as I was worried she would fall off the bed. However by the time I was dropping off it was time for G to go out fishing and then I have had to tackle Missy. I have not been able to get on in the back room which I am quite frustrated about. She has kicked off barking, howling, moaning whinging and being a right proverbial pain. A little bit of work was done but not what I had hoped to do. I have a patchwork cutting system which I need to get to grips with - in truth have never used it and there are a lot of cutters and accessories. I have managed to get most of these into one box. Not been able to play as yet as have no where to set up until I get the dining room table sorted, which is one of the reasons for tackling the back bedroom. I am of course sorting things out to go to the CS shop as well - quite a bit has already gone there. The actual cutting machine itself i.e. the Accuquilt Go Patchwork cutting machine is too big to go into one of the poly tubs. However it will be able to sit on top of the box I have just sorted. I think the back room at the rate I have gone today is going to be very much a piecemeal operation. There we are these things are sent to try us but at least I have made a start.
I am also waiting for a couple of deliveries and each time I go down to sort something out off she goes. Well at least G has had a quiet day.
Deliveries arrived safe and sound and I am very much pleased with them. My Sostrene Grene plant containers and herb driers have also arrived and I am very pleased with these. Slowly starting to gather things together little bits here and there for various projects including the garden.
Well I managed to get Missy settled and she fell asleep which has meant that I can start to re-furbish the items that belong in the computer room/craft room/study. This was later on after G got home after a pleasant day fishing. It will do him good and gave me a breather which I need every so often to just simply be.
Also managing to get the washing tackled. The washing machine threw a wobbler two days on the trot so not much got done. Now starting to wade through it a little bit, so quite a bit of clearing is going on in the background, just nothing substantial in one particular place where you can see movement. Getting there slowly though. And most of all washing is getting line dried. Will soon be back in full production fingers crossed and toes plaited.
Rugs are now dried and clean and back where they should be and Missy is not falling as badly as she was because of the rugs being back for her to grip onto.
Beautiful day and evening again. Been very warm. In an effort to get some fresh air tomorrow I may go out in the old herb garden tomorrow and spend an hour or two trying to clear that a little bit more. Every little bit of effort helps and I actually like being outside in the fresh air. I did notice that my Black Peppermint has started to put in an appearance again and that I have a few violets (my Granddad's violets) in the garden as well. One of my Primroses also survived and is in blossom at the moment in the top of my mini strawberry planter.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day on the production front all round. Need to get a wriggle on in the next few weeks to try and catch up with everything I have become behind with. Just got to keep working at things little by little.
Right am off to get myself a mug of tea.
Have a lovely evening wherever you are.
Catch you soon.

Your day sounds like a careful balance of persistence and patienceāthereās always something to tackle, but small victories keep everything moving forward. Missy certainly keeps things lively, even if it means adjusting plans more often than expected. Sorting through craft supplies, tackling household tasks, and planning ahead for the garden all sound like steady progress, even if the pace feels slower than you'd like.
ReplyDeleteThe return of familiar plants in the garden adds a wonderful touch of renewalāespecially those tied to memories like your Granddadās violets. Those little reminders of continuity make outdoor spaces even more special.
By the way, Iāve just shared a new postāyou might enjoy it: www.melodyjacob.com. Hope it offers something refreshing for your day.
