Sunday - Day Two of our Holiday
Or perhaps this should be entitled cooking in a caravan!
I am very fortunate in that the kitchen area of the caravan has a hot and cold water tap, decent washing area, and worktop and a fair amount of cupboard storage. It also has a full size fridge and freezer box which works off either gas or electric.
The day started off really well. Oh cooked me yes ME breakfast and very nice it was too!
This was more than enough for me to eat.
Mind you I did get most of the washing up to deal with. Whilst I was doing this OH disappeared outside and was gone for sometime. Eventually I heard a screech and on investigation found that he had been playing with the pole awning that we had had fitted to the van. The screech was to do with the fact that it unrolled a lot quicker than he had anticipated and ended up hitting him smack on in the mouth and chipping his front tooth. He got a bit of a mouthful!
He was okay and no major damage apart from the slight chip, he then decided that he thought that they had fitted the awning wrongly. Eventually it turned out that he had pulled it out the wrong way and put the legs up incorrectly. The way he had got it up you would not need to be tall! Eventually once this was rectified it gave far more coverage than it had done and we are very pleased with it. It is lovely to sit out under it when the sun is blazing down as where we were we got a breeze every so often which was rather welcome.
After pottering around a little further we ventured into Woodhall Spa itself and ended up adding a few extra things to the provisions we had brought with us at their local Sainsbury store although not overly big it did seem to have most things. OH treated ne to some Rhubarb Gin and lemonade which was promptly put into the freezer when we came in. We had a glass later on with lemonade and it went down very well. Especially after I had cooked Sunday dinner. Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding the works as it were swiftly followed by Strawberries and cream.
I did notice that Woodhall Spa seems to have a lot of individual speciality shops. I am hoping to have a look next time as I should have a partner in crime to go with me as they are her sort of shops also. R is a very talented artist and I would love to see her do her own range of things in the future. Grandad can babysit whilst we are partners in crime. We have tended to keep our distance from crowds quite a bit as this holiday was more about a chill out and getting to grips with the van. We are both exceptionally pleased with it.
