is a poppy kit that was started sometime back and which needs completion. I have been looking for a duplicate of this kit for a while. The Design is by Primavera, and I believe is called Indian Poppies. I have a love of Poppies, and wheat fields, wild flowers and dog daisies. Indicative of the English countryside in its truest form. A lot of designs I pick or choose have elements of this somewhere along the line whether that be in form or design or even just the colours. I am still a country kid at heart even though I have to live in the City.
Today I have found a matching kit to make a second cushion. It was offered at a Ā£15 reduction and so I felt that I could not say no to this particular option. Originally Ā£35, Managed to get at Ā£20 plus Ā£3 P & P. Here is a photo of the design:
I would also mention that most of the named kits I have seen recently have more often or not started their pricing off around the Ā£50 mark upwards.
I am pleased therefore that now I have a set of these also. Two of each design.
I also have in my stash a part completed cushion panel with Nasturtiums on. The design is another kit by Primavera. I had managed to buy a second kit of this design, and now I have the four cushion panel kits to work and finish off in due course. Not sure where the unworked kits are at the moment but as soon as I find them they will be added to the UFO box to be completed. I have found a picture online of the kit. However the kits I have, have some trellis work in the corners rather than just being plain blue corners which makes them look particularly stunning. I loved the Primavera designs as they were pretty special. They had so much life to them.
I love Poppies in any event and have several kits to work as yet, as well as having already completed a couple of pieces of work - yet again in the stash. I am not rushing to finish the cushion panels off as I want to match them with the right fabric for finishing if that makes sense. There will be a big pile to deal with one day. However, I also need to gather the feather pads (I prefer feather pads) for each one, probably buying one at a time until I get enough for the cushions I need.
I have a lot of cushions in the house - cannot beat a nice fluffy cushion, and one of my tricks for keeping cushions and pillows plumped is to pop them in the tumble drier where it does a couple of things. It gets rid of any dust, (so good for people with asthma or any allergies) and also plumps the feathers up beautifully so that they are nice and full again. Trust me it works.
As for bed pillows they get plumped up regularly but they also get bunged into the washing machine and washed with soap powder and fabric conditioner/white vinegar and then dried in the tumbler a little at a time. It can be time consuming but it does mean that you get more mileage out of expensive pillows and they do clean up a treat as well. The only contingency is that the newer pillows such as Memory foam pillows cannot be machine washed, you can however hand-wash them from what I understand. G has a Memory foam pillow I cannot bear them, possibly because if I am not at the right angle my Hiatus Hernia goes into overdrive and causes issues, so I do need to be reasonably well propped up.
In any event, I am looking forward to receiving this kit, which is due at the end of the week (if not before). Now I just have to find the other kits. Either in front bedroom or back bedroom or front room. Will dig them out and get them into the UFO box for completion in due course. Will be ideal to take to the caravan as I can work on a daily basis whilst down there and get them sorted. They are usually if worked consistently quick to work up especially if on a frame. I like needlepoint/tapestry work it is very soothing. Will be another piece of the puzzle slotted into place. I like it when plans come together.
Need to make a concerted effort this week to get back into doing some crafting. Primarily to get stuck in on my crochet blanket again. I have had a three week hiatus without being able to get stuck into anything. I am hoping to get back to the crochet in any event. The embroidery panel I will catch up on once I get the blanket out of the way with, unless I am up to dealing with the embroidery in-between times. Fingers crossed and toes plaited.
Catch you soon.

What a pretty design. It is so satisfying when a plan comes together. Next, the stitching!! I have had about a month off from any sewing too, so I began with a few stitches (all those blardy browns!) on Peter Rabbit last night. I need to TRY and work out the cutting for the Heirloom quilt, but don't altogether trust their measurements. This is now called the Hell and Damnation Quilt!!
