Wednesday Ramblings

Today started early as I had to get up to make sure the back gate was unlocked in readiness for the delivery of the day bed and the trundle bed for it. It had been snowing overnight and there was a light layering of snow on the roofs.  As per yesterday though it did disappear again as temperatures increased.

Delivery arrived at about 10:00am and the bed is a bit bigger than anticipated.  OH set too and built up the bed (with a little assistance from yours truly),  We also got the deflated memory foam mattress onto the main bed which is primarily going to be used as a settee for the craft room/computer room/study.  It is very comfortable and I am pleased with the mattress.  In the buying guide the frame is referred to as white but in fact its colour is referred to as stone white (more like a creamy off white).  It will serve a purpose I am a little disappointed in the finish on the frame though where it has been welded and not finished off as well as it might have been. Perhaps that is the Engineer's daughter coming to the fore. The bed is from Dunhelm and the link is here:

Versailles Day Bed

You have to buy a mattress for the day bed itself.  You also have to buy a mattress for the Trundle bed if you purchase one.  The trundle bed also has to be bought separately and is not included within the bed details on Dunhelm's website

It was relatively simple to put together, and at least now if the littlies come to stay they will have a bed each.

I think I am going to have to re-arrange the computer room/study/craft room a little bit though which might include taking pieces of furniture already in there out.  Will see how it goes.

The sun has been out this afternoon and we had the window open to let some fresh air in.  It was mild enough to do that.  We have had throughout the day several snow showers although nothing has settled.

OH was also waiting for a phone call from the garage to say that his car was ready and we were somewhat stumped until that call came through which it eventually did.  That is the car all sorted out for another year.  It passed on the second MOT.

I was asked to get Missy ready for a walk whilst OH waited for the car to be delivered.  She has a little jacket which is quilted to wear in this colder weather as she does feel the cold.  I took the opportunity to take several snaps of her ladyship.

She makes us smile as she always looks as though she is laughing.  Such a happy little dog as long as she gets to play.

After walking her and quite a bit later into the evening, I needed to go to the shop.  I wish I had not had to.  It was bitter out there and my hands were blue by the time I came back and took at least 10 minutes before I was able to feel them again.  According to the forecast it is going to be a very cold evening with it being -3 from 8pm until 8am tomorrow .  I am so glad to have the heating on.

Right am off to put my feet up for a bit.

At least another part of the jigsaw puzzle has come together.  Next delivery on Friday for kitchen units and doors.

Catch you soon.

  1. Missy is so cute, laughing for the camera! What a ham! It's cold here, too (West Coast of Canada). I am anxious for Spring!

    1. We have a warmer spring day here in Peterborough UK. Missy is one of the most good natured dogs we know. We are biased. When we are down she always makes us smile and is very good company. She is now 14 years old and if you disturb her when she has been sleeping suddenly we have to approach her with care as she forgets. Take care and keep safe Tricia x

    1. Hi Hart, she does love her walkies. She is like this most of the time. Gets very anxious when she is away from us and cries. Very easily pleased and good company generally though. We are very blessed with her. She does however have her humans well trained! Take care Tricia xx

  3. Love the day bed. It is very cold here, S.W. Ontario, Canada. Low's for the past week and also for next week are -15*C and high's only up to -5*C and it is even colder when the wind is blowing. It was predicted to feel like -20*C or lower earlier this week. Spring can't come too soon.
    Keep warm

  4. Hi Patricia, thank you. It is a comfy day bed. We have a brighter spring day here today. It is windy but a lot warmer than it has been. When the sun shines it speaks of so much hope for future days. Take care Tricia x
