Homemade Fish and Chips

A quiet day as still not 100% However I have cooked Tea tonight.

It is a long while since we had homemade Fish and Chips and tonight that is what we have had.  OH went to our local Waitrose shop and came back with a loin of Cod and a loin of Haddock which we have had simply with homemade Chips.  He did come back with some other bits as well.  I still need to get a few things but we can go and get those another day.  Most of them are basic items but they are needed much the same.

Himself had Cod Loin and I had the small piece of Haddock.  Very tasty it was too.  I love fish of all sorts.  Trouble is when you buy fish without the skin, the fish nine times out of ten ends up not being a whole fillet!  

The potatoes were a new batch that himself also fetched this morning. Half a sack of reds and half a sack of whites.  I used the whites and must say that they made very good chips.  Tea has gone down very nicely indeed.  Very good simple food.

Tomorrow I will be cooking a roast chicken and serving with veggies.  Hopefully with the remnants we can have a stir fry possibly on Tuesday.  I do have some other cooked chicken to use up and as I have a Sweet and Sour sauce on the Pantry shelf, and veggies, noodles and rice to hand, means I can provide a good meal with the leftovers plus one or two items from the fridge and the Pantry shelf and the veg basket.  I still do need to get some more veggies, but that will more than likely happen on Monday now.

On a different tack, I have persevered with stripping down the shirts I have to provide fabric for my patchwork stash.  another three metres of fabric has gone into the pile.  This time the 0fabric is mostly purple, lilac, pink colours.  Another three shirts will be in the pile for tonight's session.

Tomorrow is a visit to the hospital for an ultrasound.  Hopefully, that will not take too long and then can get back to the business of the day and do what I need to do here.
