Brggh!

Sorry there was no post yesterday, however I have decided that maybe once, or twice a week I may have an evening off posting in order that I can get some of the other things I have to do sorted out or moving on a little bit further.  I have of course my UFOs and my knitting project and other items to sort, so some time will give me a little breather as it were. Yesterday, I downed-tools as was not firing on all cylinders, after starting again on the Lounge.  In the end I went and put my feet up and cleared up a little bit of my cookery folder filing. These were annoying me and getting in the way and so I have dealt with these pretty promptly for me.  I keep recipes I like the look of or which I use in a Lever Arch file in plastic sleeves to go back to and use as a constant reference Library. I had wanted a very large book to do this with - sort of like a family recipe book but was unable to locate one that I liked the look of or would be functional to what I needed to store.  I therefore came up with the Lever Arch file system as you can expand to another folder and sections and sub-sections which means it caters for an ever growing resource. Folders will be covered in wadding and a pretty fabric eventually. I also collect Waitrose recipe cards that I like the sound of the recipe in a separate folder as well.  This little tranche was dealt with but I know that there are a few more to go as I find them.

Therefore went back to the knitting. I decided to tackle the rib again for the front of my jumper.  I had cast it on the other day, but had gone wrong and then ended up pulling it down.  Wasn't in the right frame of mind to continue and so left it. I am taking my time with it. Yesterday evening I got to grips with it despite making a couple of small errors (I told G to not disturb me when am knitting as I need to concentrate) and managed to get on to change of needles and start the process of the stocking stitch for the main body of the front of the jumper.  Must say it is working up very well and yet again a different variation in the way the colours are building up.  I did try and find wool with the same veining and colouring but was unsuccessful on this point.  I like variegated wools and so this might be something I might have to work on.  Any ideas as to how to achieve this on another project would be gratefully received.  Is it worth buying in an extra ball of wool to what pattern dictates to try and achieve this?

This is where I got to last night.

Hopefully will be back to it again tonight as although I am finding the process "a little messy in one way", I am finding that doing a bit when I can is actually making progress although in smaller steps so that I do not feel as I am a complete failure.

It is blooming cold here today.  I do miss a proper fire as it gives so much warmth and comfort. Heating is on and providing some warmth. Apparently OH noticed a few flakes of snow whilst out with Missy, but otherwise nothing.  I have since seen a few odd flakes from the house.  As I have said before because we are low lying, we tend to miss a lot of the nastier weather, although if we do get it the surrounding villages have usually ended up with a lot more. Where we live many many years ago used to be under the sea and if the sea levels go up may yet be again.

Since 2:30pm the snow fall is becoming heavier.  Things always seem to get quieter when it snows proper.

Then back to the Lounge. Just for a little bit.  Have managed to find a lot of Patchwork fabric predominantly Christmas fabrics, fat quarters, and Jelly Rolls.  The Christmas ones are now altogether.

I have also found some checked shirting that I had chopped  up and have relocated this with the rest of the shirt material I have processed.  These are Christmas colours and so I may well amalgamate a shirt quilt or two as well into the Christmas quilts.  Will see how it goes and at least the shirting fabric is getting stored together and a bit  more organised.

Also located some paler fabric colours which can be used in my Hexie quilt, so things are coming together slowly.  Have also located some more clothing! I do have a load of clothing anyway but knew I had this particular lot just did not have a clue where it was.  So there will be another pile for the washing machine this evening.

We are having a chicken stir fry for tea this evening.  For ease and because I want to get on with other things, this time round I am using a sauce mix.

Weather forecast for here is predicting snow showers for next couple of days. We shall see what happens. Fortunately at the moment it has not settled, but it is due to freeze this evening and so it could be nasty first thing.

Keep safe and warm wherever you are.

Catch you soon.
