Doing the Work

I have started working on the Lounge.  Trying to get that back into some sort of order.  It is going to take quite a few days to get this room really sorted. I have a lot of books all over the house that need to go back in there and the room will need deep cleaning as well. So far there is lots of stuff that I have come across which I had forgotten about.  Equally some stuff is making its way to the Charity shop also.  It is just a case of wading in and being realistic about what I want to keep and then decide what to do with some of the other bits.

I have found a load of DVDs which had gone missing.  I had not appreciated that I had the whole of the Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm etc DVDs (I had forgotten), and so once the Lounge is clean and back to full functioning and working order I might curl my feet up and have a session of DVD watching.  I particularly like Sunday afternoons for this followed by a few sarnies and a bit of cake and pot of tea.  Especially during the winter months.  Have not done this for a while though.  Be able to get my tea trolley into full working order again and have a proper Sunday tea.  If I do that will mean that will have to get back into the habit of lunch in the middle of the day.  We got into the habit of having Sunday dinner at night when the children were home so that we could take them out and about and also get other jobs done.  Have never really changed that, however I think it is about time for a change-up.

I intend working a little bit tonight, so that I can sit and knit tomorrow evening and have the evening off. I have finished the back of my jumper I am knitting and I am pleased with how it has knitted up. However, there will be more on that on an updating post during the week. I am planning for next Wednesday.  I am trying to get in the habit of planning some posts; with others being spontaneous to mix things up a bit.  I need to concentrate on working the new rib for the front of the jumper, therefore it will need my full attention.  However tonight is intended for some work.  To tell the truth I am not in knitting mode this evening so it is better to concentrate on something else rather than make mistakes which is what tends to happen if I do not give my full attention to something.  I hate unpicking stuff.

Tonight's tea is Butter Chicken.  For a long time G has liked this particular dish but I have never been too fussed when I had had a taste.  I am therefore giving it a go again this evening as it is something he really likes.  Yes it is with a bought mix and if I decide I do like it then perhaps will have a go at making it myself from scratch another time.  I will probably make it again for him in any event.  I can always find something to eat.

Verdict: Not too bad; will probably make myself next time as it seemed a little bland.  I prefer the Chicken Tikka though.

At least have tried something else new this week.

Cooking is likely to be side-lined a bit over the next few days all for striving to have a tidy front room.   We shall eat, probably scratch meals but as with most things when I am trying to do something, my focus must be on what I am doing as I am too easily distracted.

Tomorrow is another day and I have more sorting to do.

Hope you have a lovely evening.

Catch you soon.
