A Hot Old Day

 Woke up quite early 5:00am 7:00am and then 8:00am ; the dog wanted to go out, needed a few bits from the shop so himself went for that whilst I babysat the animals. Missy and Mischief cannot be left alone together although they get on okay when in the same room - I just would not risk it.  Missy is getting worse with being left at all.  She ends up hyperventilating, barking, howling getting into a right two and eight.  She is more or less deaf now and I think that this may have contributed to it. If you can grab her attention and make her look at you, you can get her to calm down.  She is an old lady and gets very grumpy to boot.  Nine times out of ten therefore, one of us is usually with her. It has been difficult keeping the house cool today and we have been  up to 29 degrees C again.  Fans have been on windows open curtains closed trying to keep ourselves and the animals as comfortable as possible.  During the day itself it has been far too uncomfortable to do anything.  I have thus been on the computer doing some research, interacting with Instagram friends, drafting outlines for future posts (no detail as yet but the bare bones) as I always like to be one step ahead where I can.  When I get an idea, the basis of it goes down notated in a draft.

Made some Lemon Barley water and also Lemonade which is in the fridge.  We have been tucking into the Lemonade today and it has been lovely cool and thirst quenching. Lemon Barley tomorrow.  Fortunately I got loads of reduced Lemons the other day. Unfortunately no photos as yet photos are taking forever to load up for some unknown reason and not necessarily in the order they were taken in!

Also did some playing in the kitchen with a project.  Have to leave what I have been doing for a week and so will pop up a post probably next Sunday on what I have been playing with.

Tea tonight was Rib Eye steak, served with fried onions, fried mushrooms and a side salad and bread and butter.  Went down very nicely.  Was supposed to have Strawberries and cream again for afters.  Neither of us could manage them though after the main part of the meal.  They will keep until tomorrow.

Have done a bit of pottering about since then.  The bonus is in this weather the washing dries nicely and airs at the same time.  Always a silver lining.

Think it will be an early morning tomorrow; have set the alarm for 7:00am as I have an awful lot to do and it is best done whilst it is cooler before I run out of steam.  I have a lot to do as usual, however at least the bulk of the washing has been done.  I have some more to do, but need new soap powder first so will need to go and get that before can do any more.

With all this warm weather I am not planning on cooking too much.  Maybe a Lasagna at some point;  Have Frittata and Quiche to have yet so it looks as though there will be a few salad based meals this week and Strawberries and Cream.

Hopefully will get a good night's sleep tonight.
