Back to the grind
Wednesday evening
I set about washing all the cupboards, and then adding stuff back into cupboards as well as on top of the cupboards. I managed to get everything back on top and there are potentially a few pieces that may be added in, rather than the items have popped up there to start with. Will see how it goes.
I have also started sorting stuff in the bathroom. Have located a few more pieces of equipment and some stuff to go into the Pantry, but will get this all sorted so that I can just "cruise" when it comes to the washing later in the week. Clearing this room out will predominantly happen at the end of the week as I have a lot more washing to do. I will start the ironing this week that is in the dining room, but as I say I do have a lot more washing to sort out. A lot of this is as a result of where it has been stored in bags. Some of the bags have ended up getting split so to be on the safe side there will be a major clean through. Will do no harm at the end of the day and I will be able to see exactly what I have and get that sorted.
I have as I said sorted some more stuff into the Pantry. As a result of that, I now just have to have a brief re-arrange in the Pantry to get stuff sorted a little bit better than it is and to enable smooth running of me finding stuff in there. It is a bit like the Tardis the deeper you dig the more you find!
In other words lots to do yet, but will get there eventually. "Rome was not built in a Day"!
Thursday Morning
An early start here. Was awake at 5:00am when it was blue sky, pink clouds and very calm and the Sun was out. I then woke again again at 7:00am. So then after trying to go back to sleep and failing miserably I was up by 8:00am, downstairs and pottering in the bathroom after arming myself with a mug of tea. As I have said the day started off beautifully but then turned to cloud and rain and the wind got up a little bit.
Since then have slowly been working upwards and onwards, sorting stuff, deciding whether it was to keep. Redistributing some stuff to the Pantry. Must definitely sort out later on. Recovering some of my crockery, missing bath mats, clothes. One of my really big Pasta serving dishes and a couple of large China bowls ideal for trifles that sort of thing or fruit salads. Slowly making progress which I am pleased about. It will be a slow and steady day, but if I can at least get organised with what needs washing, etc. then as I have said I will be able to cruise with the washing and ironing next week and then get it put away or taken to the Charity shop. I have slowly been working away on my own in the kitchen. I do not mind being on my own as it gives me space and time to think.
Went up to see if someone was awake a little later - he was still out for the count but woke up and so organised breakfast which in effect came as a natural break for me before getting on again. This is breakfast for the adults and the Pets. Breakfast went down very nicely in any event.
Have since been back in the bathroom sorting out. Most of the stuff is going to have to be laundered and the bathroom looks far worse than it actually is which is a bit of a relief. However it will need some serious patching and painting when we get to that point which I hope is not too distant; probably be able to get started next week. I intend to wade through the washing and ironing piles and get them out of the way with probably starting over this weekend if the weather is good and ideal for drying. I can then work the ironing pile and get things sorted that way on. So bathroom will clear eventually but at least there are no more hidden kitchen items in there.
Also have another bread loaf on. We decimated the one made last night and unfortunately I forgot to take photos. Unfortunately I lost the charge on my phone and was unable to take photos again of either the bread or our tea tonight.
I am also washing a few other items found and drying them up as I find them. I have also found clothes that I knew I had and which I had been unable to locate. Lot of sorting out to do in this respect. It will however be a job well done. Once the laundry is sorted I can then strip the bathroom out and give it a good scrub. Once this is done I can then hand this to G and I can then start in the dining room.
I have since been in the Pantry today and tidied that up a bit bearing in mind I have added in quite a few bits and bobs.
Tea went down very nicely. We had mashed potato, some Yorkshire pudding left over from the other day, Carrots, Cauliflower, a tin of garden peas and some onion gravy served with fried sausages. There are some veggie leftovers and the gravy as well, so will probably turn that into a Bubble N Squeak for tomorrow. Went down very nicely and did the trick.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening.
Off to potter in my bedroom have found some items in the bathroom that need to go in there.
Managed to get the phone going and snap these two photos. Phone now on charge!
Catch you soon.
