It is Friday again
The days are surely coming round ever quicker and here we find ourselves back into the weekend again.
Thursday Night Continued
After our tea, I then set too and sorted the rest of the Pantry out so that is nice and tidy again. The first bread loaf came out just after I posted last night so I did a little amendment. After allowing the machine to cool down, I then set too and made a second loaf. We soon get through them.
I do have plans today to make some bread buns. If I do not get to them today will make on Saturday though. It has been a while since I have made any and I think they will make a nice change. I am therefore going to have a go at making some French style Crusty rolls as G likes Crusty rolls. I have never made them before.
I will probably on Saturday also make some Cinnamon Buns. I am a little partial to these even though G does not like Cinnamon!
Friday
My dear Dad's birthday today. Always thought of and always in my heart.
I slept heavily last night, perhaps due to the fact that I was up so early and I did not get to bed until 1:30am! I tend to be a bit of a night Owl in any event, but if I am getting up earlier really need to balance this.
When I got up G was not in the house. He had nipped to the shop and come back with a few basic things that we need. We then had breakfast, this morning just thick buttery toast. Used half of one of the loaves made last night. Makes a very good toasting bread. Will not get wasted at all. G came back with a standard tray of 30 eggs from the Veg shop as well.
I also needed Laundry supplies i.e. stain remover, soap powder and fabric conditioner. Also got a bottle of washing up liquid as a little low. I can now start the process of dealing with the washing mountain that I have created for myself. This evening am going to do a couple of hours ironing to start on the ironing pile as well.
We then nipped to the Butcher and came away with not a lot but enough some sausages, mince, a couple of Barnsley chops and a tray of large eggs, and a couple of curry sauces. There was an offer on the mince so have come away with three packs of about 500g each. Lasagna, Cottage Pie and maybe a Chilli are on the agenda for the next few days and maybe will even squeeze a Spaghetti Bolognese. Also have the sausage and bacon. Also came away with a second tray of eggs this time Large eggs and you get about 20 eggs on the tray. These eggs are gorgeous for eating as part of a meal. I shall use the other tray from the Veg shop for general cooking and baking. I need to get some Bananas so that I can make some Banana bread, some scones and maybe some Flapjacks.
Need to sort veggies out though. Will probably go tomorrow to the Veg shop to see what they have.
It has therefore been a bit of a "bitty" day with nothing substantial really getting done. It has also been a cold and blowy day with intermittent rain so not a really inspiring day at all. I have been cold for the best part and am bundled up in a jumper again cold mortal that I am. My fingers have been going blue again!
Egg and Bacon it is for tea this evening served with some of my homemade bread, as I am not massively hungry as for the past three nights we have had quite substantial meals which I am grateful for.
And then I have a hot date with an ironing pile.
Have a lovely evening everyone.
Catch you soon.
