Non-Stop Busy
Trying to take advantage of the lovely weather and trying to get so many jobs achieved. More washing has been carried out today and a load of drying achieved. Still have loads more to attack during the next couple of days but hopefully there is a method in the madness. Also have some vintage linens to launder for a couple of recycling projects.
We also had a cooked breakfast each this morning, and we have (and I felt sad about this) taken the Holly tree down quite a bit. I felt sad because the tree had split into two branches further up and branches had grown around both stems like brothers holding each other close. However, the tree has been long over-looked I have been trying to get this sorted for a couple of years.
We have chopped up quite a bit of it and there is still the main stem to be trimmed down quite a bit. I have kept some berries back in the hope that I can sprout some new cuttings from them. As I said I felt bad about this. A tree is a living thing and I will not as a result of the cull have many Holly berries for Christmas decorating this year.
The privet has also been finished off completely as has the Cotoneaster. Just the last of the Holly tree to tackle tomorrow. Then I can set about sorting out the dead Holly leaves in the gravel any weeds and clearing out behind the recycling bin, dustbin and green waste bin. I did not want to have to store them in the front garden, but on a practical basis because of their size they were absolutely horrendous to get out of the gate. Therefore thought that there was more to living than trying to tackle these bins and so re-sited them in the front garden. I usually get my kneeling pad out and a thick pair of gloves and go through the gravel piecemeal. A tedious job but it makes things a lot better overall. I like to do things properly where I can.
I will then have to wash down the windows and surrounds and also the door and the postbox. Then to revamp a new sign for the front door. That should then complete the front garden for quite a while. One really big job achieved.
I do have a couple of Ivy cone baskets that I might put out the front of the house as well on the hanging brackets there just to put something out.
Tea tonight for me was sausage sandwich and G had tomatoes and sausages. Was going to do a toad but as it has been too hot opted for something much easier and simpler (and cooler) to deal with. Back to salads tomorrow I think.
Tomorrow I think will be a mostly kitchen based day as I have not got back in there for the past couple of days. I need to start some ironing tomorrow evening so the kitchen needs to be completed tomorrow so that I can start this and start getting clothes back into wardrobes, cupboards and drawers. This needs to be accomplished as I need to create as much space as I can in the house, but also be able to get easy access to our clothes and accessories easily. If I can achieve this, this will be a big step forward.
I also have more laundry to deal with tomorrow namely quilts and bed-linen. The real bonus for me with all this weather is that everything is getting line-dried and smells of sunshine when you bring it in. Sweet and clean.
Somewhere along the line the Bay tree in the Herb border will also need a haircut. Not sure whether this will happen tomorrow or not, but somewhere along the line would be great to get everything tidied up and looking neat.
Then I will start on the back garden again. However I do believe that there will have to be a tip run fitted in somewhere along the line in any event.
Next week is going to be really busy as I have a project that I need to deal with and try and get resolved. As I have mentioned before I will try and post, but please understand I may not be able to post every night as I usually do. Will see how it goes. Never say never.
I also want to get into the front room/Lounge of the house and restore order there. That might be a step too far at the moment, but it is something that I am going to aim for. I have an awful lot of books dotted all over the house at the moment and they really need to go back to where they belong or as close as I can get them. This may result in chaos in the rest of the house.
Right am off to go and get myself a nice cup of tea. Would prefer a nice draught cider but there we are. Having to dig in the heels to try and get several projects done. However I really am enjoying this lovely weather we are having at the moment. A little rain is forecast for the first part of the week. Will see how things go.
Have a lovely evening everyone.
Catch you soon.
