Sorting out some vintage glassware
I love nice things and one of my passions is collecting vintage glassware. I have a love of nice things from my Nan and my Mum. Nan had a lovely China cabinet with all her precious bits in and my Mum did not have a cabinet but she had lots of lovely items out on display.
My first ornament was as a little girl and for a birthday present from a friend I was bought the sweetest little China cat in a basket. I still have that somewhere amongst all the other bits and bobs I have collected over many years. Some come from Charity shops, some were inherited, some came via Ebay, some were gifted. Some of the items in the following photos are only some of the items I have the rest are in other boxes so there are a few more to match up.
There are four of the amber coloured Champagne Coupes. They also have an embossed gold design just under the rim. In the back of the picture on the left hand side as you are looking at the picture, are two of the smaller glasses. I later packed up two larger ones which I had taken off my side-dresser.
Also in this picture at the front you will see some (I think they are German) green stumpy glasses with vine leaves etched on them. I have more of these too.
In the second photo are some Peach lustre glasses on twisted stems. These are very fragile and easily break. Guess how I know that one. However they are highly decorative and look gorgeous on a Christmas table. I am still adding to these.
Some of the stuff in storage has had the boxes collapse over a period of time, and every so often when I can I retrieve, unpack, wash and then re-pack said items. I dealt with such a box on Friday evening and rediscovered some lovely bits along the way. A couple of pieces had broken but that is what happens. I have another box downstairs which I hope to attempt to deal with during the week, but will see how it goes.
I also have some slate cake stands and cheese stands, two three tier slate round ones and two oblong two shelf on a ladder rack. I had to re-package these and have re-wrapped them in tissue.
There is still a lot more to sort out and to pair up, but will get there one day.
At least have been able to do this little tranche. Now for the next one.
Catch you soon.

I like nice things, too. These are really nice stemware. You should display instead of packing away! I need to start using my china and crystal again, even though it's just the two of us. Gone are the holiday gatherings and dinner parties. You have prompted me to use my things.
