A Little Meal Planning

Yesterday I went shopping and added more things to the fridge which was sorted out first thing this morning. Lots of good eating to be had, but it is nice to have the fridge back under control again.

Monday

We had fresh Sweetcorn on the Cob with butter for tea and that was followed by a Panini each with cheddar, onion and Wiltshire Ham for the filling.  Went down very nicely indeed.

Tuesday

Tonight we were supposed to have Peking Duck in Plum sauce with pancakes for tea.  G however came back from the shop with a cucumber and some Spring Onions as well as some Langoustine which were on offer. The Langoustine needed using up quicker.

Tonight therefore we have had Langoustine with Bread and Butter for tea. G went shopping and came back with a bit of a bargain.  Four packs of Four large Langoustine for £2.03 per pack (reduced from £4.05 per pack).  They were lovely and went down a treat.  That was followed up with a Strawberry and Custard tart for pudding.  Not too much to eat, as we were not that hungry but enough to keep the Gremlins away.  Went down very nicely.

Wednesday

The Duck has been deferred to Wednesday night's tea and will be served with cucumber and spring onions as well as the plum sauce.  Will have the last of the Strawberry and Custard tart that we had for pudding on Tuesday night as well.

Thursday

We are having Toad in the Hole, served with carrots, broccoli, peas and mashed potato.  It is supposed to be getting colder and so I want to make sure that we have some reasonable eating to hand.  I might make a Rice pudding for afters.  I will also make up some French Onion Soup and some Broccoli and Blue cheese soup as well as that is very warming with some bread for dipping as a grab and go item.  I love homemade soup.  I also intend to buy in a couple of chickens and roast them, strip them down and make some pies for the freezer as well as chicken stock for the pantry shelf as I am now out of the homemade stuff!

Friday

Could be a Charcuterie night with some cheese and biscuits as I still have a fair bit of cheese in the fridge or indeed a steak meal. Otherwise it could be something from the Freezer a proper hot meal.  Will have to make my mind up on that on Thursday night.

I do have options of Gammon Steaks with pineapple, or indeed a scratch tea with some homemade chips, cold meat and a fried egg.

Saturday

Could be a Pizza night as I have plenty of cold charcuterie style meat in the fridge.  Would just be a question of making up the pizza bases and then popping on what we would like.  I have Rosemary, Mint and Basil in the way of fresh herbs.

Sunday

Will be a proper full roasted Pork joint served with veggies and "Roasties" and maybe even some homemade Yorkshire pudding as well and maybe a Blackberry and Apple sponge for pudding.

There are far more choices available in the fridge and in the freezer, as well as Pantry items available as well. It very much depends on what G fancies to eat or how much he wants to eat.  However, we have different appetites when it comes to eating.  I do not have a large appetite these days.

Equally though, I am likely to change my mind somewhere down the line as well, so it will really be in the lap of the Gods and the weather as to what we do have to eat.  We will be fed and that is the main thing.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Catch you soon.
