Getting Stuck In
Back into the groove of hard work. After my back incidents I have had extreme fatigue again and although the mind has been willing to get on with stuff the body has miserably let me down. I am pushing myself to get some stuff done but in my mind it is not enough - progress is slow and sometimes I end up doing stuff then something else has to be done and then I lose momentum. Not good for the soul or for the inner spark. The only thing that wins here is the "inner demons" and they are not always right!
The weather today has been chilly, but the Sun is out properly the first time in a long time and I think that always cheers things up remarkably. Warmth and brightness make a big difference. Gives a different complexion to things. I do not do grey weather very well (yet alone grey wallpaper but that is another story!). Currently 3 degrees C here at 2:30pm. Supposed to go down to -5 degrees tonight at the moment. Am keeping to the house where I can.
There have been lots of planning things going on, but not necessarily action. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things and get things sorted out and back on track overall - probably a lot slower than I envisaged, but I am in the right frame of mind at the moment, despite being tired and there really is only me to do stuff at the end of the day, which is unfair but it is what it is.
Today I have achieved the following:
- Missy had an unfortunate event, and I ended up having to pop her bedding into the washer early morning. We had other covers for her. I am untidy but I am not unclean and I will not have her in a mess either. Her blankies and her quilt have been washed and the quilt is currently drying. The blankets will be next; I am a bit bleary eyed as a result of the early unexpected morning manoeuvres!
- Boiled the tea towels and got them dry; needed for washing up;
- Then sorted out the big pile of washing into like for like items;
- Starting to process this. This will take a couple of days;
- In the study/computer room/Craft room, I have had a box of new kits stuck on one of the chairs. Last evening I had started sorting out a new box to contain all my kits and I managed to get half of that done last night. I also sorted out a separate embroidery bag, patchwork bag and needlepoint/tapestry bag. There was then just the remaining box in the study on the chair with lots of crafting and needlework kits it, which has also now been emptied out and the kits amalgamated with the others; there will be other kits to go into this new bigger box as I find them. I do have a couple of more kits to arrive.
- I have a big pile of washing up to do - dishwasher has thrown a wobbler. So wading through that until G can get to it;
- Wading through the washing up and drying up and putting stuff away where it belongs;
- Of course after the washing up was completed, it turned out to be something simple with the dishwasher. Fortunately it is now ready to go for the next lot of washing up;
- Sorting out a couple of boxes with new Christmas decorations, packed away in readiness for next year; there will be a post to come soon on what I am going to be doing throughout the year where I can on this front;
- Been and got stocked up on food for Missy and Mischief;
- A little shopping achieved, just bits;
- Oh and an unintended visit to the charity shop where I liberated a couple of small items. I have a couple of matching vintage lazy Susans, but had managed to break a couple of dishes. I found four replacement ones for £1. So I did come away with them. There was also a small glass dome and board originally a candleholder and dome; I am going to re-purpose the board and the dome for a small cheese. If that does not work I will re-use it with candles again. Cost £1.50. I also came away with three stoneware dishes - the brown ones three for £1.50. So quite pleased for £4. It all goes with what I have or what was missing.
