Warmest Day so far
and it has been glorious. Makes the heart sing when the weather is so much better than it has been. The promise of hopefully good weather to come more time outside soaking up vitamin D and being in the fresh air.
I had to go for a top up shop for some things we had run out of loo rolls, soap powder, washing up liquid, butter that sort of thing. It is over two months since I have done this sort of shop. Went to Home Bargains and intend to go back there next week as I was not quite in a position to buy some other bits I require for the Pantry. However it will wait until next week. Also managed to get a new sweeping brush a proper one for Ā£2.99 (wood) as the other one has had it. Couldn't be happier with it a brush that works!
Looked at the flowers they certainly are starting to stock the bedding plants and I shall pick some of those up next week as I am not ready with the greenhouses just yet. I also saw some nice planters but as I have said will have a good luck when I go back next week. I really am "itching" with the garden but need to tackle some basics first.
Also nipped into Iceland. Only a few necessities bought here as need to re-pack the freezer and also sort the fridge out a little more. Another visit next week, but at least it has been a little bit of a top up which was needed.
Prawn Cocktail for tea this evening with a big salad underneath served with wholemeal bread. Strawbs and cream for pudding. Did buy a Honeydew Melon, but needs to ripen up a little bit more before eating.
From a glorious day has turned into a beautiful evening. Thank goodness the lighter nights are. Not long now before the clocks go back an hour and we get to appreciate lighter evenings and mornings. Due to go back on 30 March 2025. Not this weekend but the one after.
Hope you are all enjoying this lovely change in weather. Must embrace it whilst we can.
Catch you soon.

Trish, the clocks go forward in the spring and jump back in the Autumn.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, I knew that - its the rhyme I was taught to remember which way on it was. Too much haste not enough proof reading on my part. Doh! Thank you for keeping me on the straight and narrow it is appreciated. Hugs xx Hope you and Edwin are doing well. Tricia xxx
DeleteOur clocks went forward a couple of weeks ago so we are already enjoying those lighter evenings! The weather has been fairly sunny and a lot milder - but - March and early April can be very "up and down" here so I am not putting away my boots or parka just yet. It went up to 16C on Wed. but will only be about 2C on Sunday so it is a bit of a roller coaster ride.
ReplyDeleteWorking from home today - office work this morning and some much needed cleaning this afternoon. I am meeting a friend for dinner out this evening and I am hoping that their warm seafood salad is on the menu as it is a favourite and your mentioning the prawns put it in my mind. Hope the weather stays good!
Hi Margie it feels cold here today although supposed to be 17 degs C. Been raining for most of it. A couple of overcast and cooler days forecast and should be getting warmer again from Wednesday next week when the Sun is supposed to come out to play. It is lighter and a lot warmer than it has been which I am grateful for. I am still in my winter coat and probably will be until May. Hope you had a lovely time with your friend and that the warm seafood salad was indeed on the menu! Take care Tricia x
