Supposed Deliveries, Phone Calls and Disappointments

Last night I ended up with a Jack Russell cuddled up in bed with me.  She just would not settle at all, but then when I popped her in beside me, gave her a little pillow for her head, she settled and went to sleep. Missy remained with me until 7:00am this morning when I turfed her out back to her own bed as I needed to be up and about and doing things today.  I have far too much to achieve and therefore an early start was required.  

I started off by doing a load of washing up.  I have tons more to do as I have cupboards to clear and wash out which includes contents.  So it is going to be a little time consuming.  It is possible I am not going to get to any crafting this week because of the amount of work that I need to do.

Well I was due a delivery today - I assume for the compost that I ordered the other day.  Received email notifications confirming situation and then at the last minute received a phone call out of the blue and apologising, but the driver had been taken ill.  It would appear that my delivery for the compost will now be on Saturday.  At least they let me know, however it does mean that I am going to have to wait a few more days before I am able to pot up anything else.  G was pleased that I had booked a bulk delivery as we really did struggle when we attempted to bring it home ourselves.

I then received a delivery via a different source and received my new riddle with five different sized grids for being able to fine tune the size of the compost you require.  Must say have test-driven it and it works far better than the one I had previously.   Very chuffed with it.

I am now waiting for the Tomato growing rings.  Basically a structure that will sit on the top of a growing bag or large pot, which has a moat in the top of it surrounding the plant.  You add the water there and it takes it as needed. I had some of these before but seem to have lost them for the time being, so six more were sourced.  Hopefully in course the rest will turn up as they are much needed.  Might have to buy another set of these.

A lot of washing has been going on today. I have managed to make a concerted effort into some of the bags with the vintage linens, sheets etc. in them. Also getting them dry as it is hot and warm here again today.

This is slowly starting to clear down the bathroom a little bit although still have a long way to go.

I am predominantly working in the kitchen today.  I have started stripping out one of the cupboards which holds a lot of my baking tins.  Slow job as they will get washed too.  Will get there eventually.  Think that a lot of them may be relocated into a box elsewhere in the house and I will just need to go to the box to get what trays I need rather than having them in the cupboard.  I have a lot of different baking pans and sheets.

Also, my six varied mints arrived today.  I have an Orange, Banana, Strawberry, Blackcurrant, Lemon and .  They have all been potted up and are now in the greenhouse for growing on.  These have joined my mint cuttings which rooted and were potted up the other day and are currently in the greenhouse (both lots) to allow them to settle and grow a bit before they will go outside.

When I looked at one batch of my chillies the other day, they seemed a bit limp.  However, they have picked up a lot and are now standing proud in the greenhouse.  Being relocated seems to have upskittled them a bit but at least they are settling now.

Not sure I will get to any digging today as it is hot - will see later, but if not will probably try and do some tomorrow as well.

The greenhouses though are pretty well stuffed and I shall be ready for that compost come Saturday.  The plants have really grown very well.  Plus I have a load more to come yet.  I need the compost for Strawberries, Courgettes, Marigolds really need to be going out.  I am hoping that G will take me to B & Q for me to have a look at some more plants by the end of the week as well.  However I can get some more seeds planted.  I would quite like a couple of Marguerites, a couple of Hydrangeas, a couple of English Lavender and French Lavender to start with.  I also need Basil, more Chives, Thyme, Parsley and Rosemary Plants.  Will probably look at Waitrose for the Herbs, but I will look wherever I go in any event.

I also need to go to Iceland and also Home Bargains for bits and bob's during the week as well.  I want to see what plants they have at Home Bargains to see if there is anything I can add on the hanging basket front.  Will see what happens.

Need to get out before Thursday (hopefully tomorrow) as G is fishing on Thursday and leaving me babysitting the animals.  I have a lot to do it is knowing what to do next.

However, I think I will be in the back bedroom again doing some sorting out of boxes etc. so as to keep an eye on a little Jack Russell who is as Nutty as they come.

Will see how things go.  Every day gets a little bit more done.
