What a Busy Day
Not with what I had intended to do i.e. the garden, but have had to concentrate on the house. Well it was about time and I was up early.
The Little room has been totally done out. It gets damp and we end up with black mould but all traces are gone for the time being. Totally re-arranged it. Knocked one of the shelves off which in a round about way is very serendipitous! The top shelf was too near to the ceiling and so I could not stock things like toilet rolls, kitchen roll that sort of thing. I have tried not to use the tissue but when you have an elderly pet it is much easier to use in her management. I have therefore asked G if he will re-position the shelf further down so that I can store my iron on there and get it easily without doing myself an injury. It is one of those big pressurised steam irons. It is very good but boy is it heavy. G said that he will deal with this in the next few days. I have therefore added the Tissue and the Toilet rolls to the top shelf and it is now out of the way and safe.
I have also added a cheap little three tier washable trolley to the little room and have put in supplies like wet wipes, fresh toilet rolls, black mould cleaner, and bathroom cleaner as well as air freshener to use. In the bottom basket I have added back up supplies and clean cloths within easy reach if they are needed.
I then made a detour into the kitchen and tackled the washing and drying up. Have that done. G was going to cook tea so that I could carry on. He was waiting for me to finish the washing up and was going to cook tea. However, in the end it was much easier for me just to set too and deal with it myself.
Made a homemade Lasagna and served it with a side salad and some Garlic Bread. Has gone down very nicely and there is plenty for the next couple of days as well. Just going to finish off with a few grapes for a change for afters.
The washing machine has been on for most of the day. I have also got the washing dry. It has been a right blowy day today but it has got the washing absolutely dry. This is some of the stuff that is being washed from the storage pile. I have got some duvet covers, pillowcases, bed sheets all washed and dried today. Will keep on with this until it is all done.
I have also bought some old fashioned Pinks plants today. I have bought four at £3 each.
I opened up the greenhouses earlier as they were really hot and have left the doors open. Will go shortly and close them up. Sadly have not been able to get at the garden today and I am hopeful that I will be able do a little bit tomorrow.
Right I think that I am going to have to sit down as my back is playing up a bit. As a result of all the bending, stretching and cleaning. I have a little round Scrubbie brush that you can add washing up liquid too and then depress the top and it releases the washing up liquid onto whatever you are scrubbing. I have found that it is very good for those edges where you cannot quite get your fingers into and it is cleaning them up beautifully.
I am also finding that the non-bleach oxygen powder is really good for cleaning the loo and the walls as well as the toilet brush. I add some boiling water to to the powder and then add the brush to the holder (mine is a recycled Ewer and bowl). It is keeping the brush beautifully fresh. I am checking every few days to keep things really squeaky clean.
Right off to put my feet up and rest. Been a productive and busy day.
Catch you soon.
