In readiness

 for the work to be done.

I have been working on the rest of the house today.  I have managed to get the under-stair cupboard completely stripped out and ready for the work to be commenced.  I did not realise that I had as many drinks bottles.  On and off for years I have made wine, cider and bitter. I have never got rid of the equipment as a lot of it is hard to find these days and some of it comes from my Mum and my Nan and some from my brother.  Plus it is also very expensive to buy a lot of the stuff today compared to what it was.  In any event they will not be going anywhere as I am feeling the pull to make more wine again.  I had considered it, but then decided not to get rid of.  Thought would start off some Ginger after we have finished with the Electrician and then hopefully it should be ready for next Christmas.  It is a lovely wine and very warming.

It has taken me over 3 hours to get everything out of the under-stair cupboard!

The washing machine has also thrown another wobbly.  It does not like bath sheets for some unknown reason even when I only put one in! I only have a smaller size machine whereas I was used to a much bigger machine.  However beggars cannot be choosers and the machine was a gift from my step-son which got us out of the mire a bit.  If there is a problem with the machine it is always the same load and what I am washing.  I think I will be calling the Engineer in if it happens again as this is getting a little bit out of hand.  G said that he would have a look a bit later on.

G has ordered a "take away" so that I do not have to down tools and cook tea tonight for which I am grateful.  I did cook his breakfast when all said and done.

I am also "bitting" between the other rooms to try and restore a little bit of order from the chaos.  There is a lot to do I do not think that I will be going to bed for long tonight - if I get there that is.  I am a lot slower than I used to be and it is driving me nuts.  I tend to under-estimate how much time something will take to do, and of course married with the fact that if I do a job then it is done properly - I cannot skimp!  Not a good combination.  Hold my hands  up but really just have to keep plugging away at things to get them done.  I am tired, but at least I can rest up tomorrow after the work is done.  Hopefully will get a few hours to myself and a chat with my cousin in the morning which always cheers me up.

Fortunately G is on board with my plans for the Little Cupboard under the stairs and the Fireside cupboard.  I told him about it today.  I had already made my mind up that this was going to happen in any event.  We also need to pull the side Dresser out so that I can strip the wall of the old wallpaper behind it and gloss the skirting board behind it.  At some point the Dressers are also going to get sorted out as they are in desperate need of a little TLC.  There is a heck of a lot of work to be done and I am up for it although I will pace myself.

G is abandoning ship and going fishing tomorrow so I will be left to deal with the Electrician and keep the animals under control.  Wish me luck.

Needless to say that as a result of my efforts there is a lot of rubbish to go to the Tip. It is not the end of it more like the beginning.  I think there will be a trip to the Tip in the offing for later in the week.  Probably Friday as G is fishing again on Thursday.
