The Little Room under the Stairs, Fireside Cupboard and Dining Room.

Work is scheduled in here on Tuesday as we are having the Mains Electrical box replaced.  This cupboard I have been threatening to do for ages.  Unfortunately despite the plans it got waylaid a couple of times.  However, bearing in mind that there is going to be a bit of mess going on in here with the fitting of the new Electrical box, I am going to strip the whole cupboard out and let them get on with it.  

Once they are done and dusted, I will then go in there, give everything a good wash down and then start filling the plaster, rubbing it down and eventually sorting out the paintwork and painting the cupboard out which will make it lovely and clean.

Then attention will be paid to the shelving in there.  I am hoping to put a deep edging all the way around the shelves to stop jars falling off the shelves.  That will need painting as well.  Also intend to put some spotty green vinyl on the shelves as well to stand my preserves in there.  In reality it is a vinyl tablecloth that I managed to get quite cheaply compared to buying the vinyl by the metre.  You have to utilise what you can get hold of.

We have replacement flooring to go in there in any event.  We have had it for some time. However, I was not keen on getting it put down and then to possibly with the workmen doing what they have to do, I did not really want to mess everything up.  We therefore made the decision not to put the flooring down until we have got the cupboard how we want it.  There is a lot of sorting out to do in there.

It is a good place to start though as I need more shelf space for my Preserve jars.  Once this is all sorted out, can then start re-filling it.

Will then be able to start on the Fireside cupboard which will also hold preserves as well and get that all sorted out. tidied up and clean.  Vinyl will also be added to these shelves. We can then get the preserves and other items into this cupboard.  The external doors will need stripping, new handles added and then repainted.

These projects will both be a precursor to decorating the Dining Room out and getting that all done and dusted as well.  There is a lot of work to do in the Dining Room and ultimately will need new flooring in here as well.  However that can be last on the list.  I just want the Dining Room to be clean and sorted out. I would quite like to get it decorated soon as I would like to get some of my autumn decorations out.  I have a new light fitting for in there in any event  The wallpaper I have already bought (and which I am going to have a go at hanging)  is a lovely warm yellow small leaf print.  It is a vintage wallpaper.  A warm colour.  There is of course all the paintwork to do which will need undercoating and glossing.  

The doors will also need attending to, stripping and sanded and then varnished to square them up a bit.

Will see what we can do in any event.  It will be good to get this all sorted hopefully before Christmas with the Kitchen and the Bathroom being finished off as well.  Still need to deal with the flooring in these rooms.

The Work begins on Tuesday - not sure how long they are going to be but would assume are going to be without electricity for a little while.
