Starting to get Ready for Christmas - Slowly bringing things together

From all over the place and in no particular order.

G went fishing and I went shopping.

A few weeks ago I bought in some lovely bright red very Tall pillar candles for Christmas.  I had hoped to get a few more, but where I got them from have stopped stocking them.  I just absolutely love Candlelight over the Christmas period and firelight, but sadly at the moment I cannot do anything about this.  Maybe one day.

My first tentative shop really today. Today I have been to Home Bargains and I must say that they have a few nice pieces available on the Christmas decoration front.  Have seen a few other pieces would quite like but will have to see how the pennies pan out. I quite liked some of their baubles and potentially some bauble bases (not breakable) for making some beadwork baubles using the non-breakable baubles as a base for the beading.

Things located thus far (not just necessarily from Home Bargains but elsewhere as well).

I bought an Icing bag, collar and some nozzles the other day from Morrisons.  I already have a full range of nozzles in my stash including the larger ones that are normally used for cream and cookies as well.  However I have had trouble sourcing the nylon bags that can be washed and re-used again and at £1.75 for the little set I thought that was a bit of a bargain, whether or not I use the nozzles or not.

Since then I have sourced some polythene piping bags which you cut to size depending on what sized nozzle  you use.  I am going to need these for decorating my Christmas cake.  I ended up buying in two lots with 15 bags in a packet  = 30 bags which should keep me going for a little while at £0.99 per packet = £1.98 for both.

I have also bought in two very large Glass Hurricane  Lamps at £4.99 each = £9.98.  They are on offer at this price. These two Hurricane Lamps could technically be used all year long.  If I get the opportunity I would like to buy a couple more, but in reality today I could only manage the two as they are quite large and I was terrified of breaking them on the way home.  I have been after a couple of large Hurricane Lamps for quite a while, so was pleased to find these.  They can soon be made pretty.  I have bought wreath bases to do this, with the wreath going on the outside of the Hurricane Lamp.

I now need to source some Candles.  I have seen some that I would quite like and for this size that would be £9.99 for one candle.  The candles I have seen are Apple and Cinnamon scented.  However I want to have a look around to see what else I can source to see which appeals to me the most. I like proper candles they are softer lighting and more atmospheric but you have to be sensible with them though.

I also bought in two wreath bases to use with these Hurricane Lamps.  I can either use fresh greenery such as Holly and Ivy or buy in some picks to decorate the wreaths with.  These are to go on the outside of the Hurricane Lamps to decorate them up a bit on the table or the Dresser wherever I decide to put them.

I also bought in some smaller wreaths with candle holders in them surrounded by artificial greenery. Snowberry Picks and greenery has been used with these and I quite like these they look really simple.  Equally I need to source some battery operated candles for these holders because of the artificial greenery.  Do not want it going up in flames by using a real candle.

I love Christmas tree decorations and I have managed to find two Green Christmas trees to add to my Tree collection.  They had them in white and in green.  I opted for the Green as I have some decorations they will go with.  These are made from Wax and I think they are lovely.  £7.99 each.

I have also bought in 12 Red Napkins.  Not expensive ones but nice and simple at £2.99 per packet of four.  They also had options in Green and White as well as other things like mats, table runners and tablecloths

Craft supplies were also purchased as I have a number of crafts that I want to get done.

I bought in a small glue gun as I cannot locate my larger one and this is needed for a couple of projects.

I have also bought in some extra glue sticks.

White acrylic paint has been sourced as well for a craft project(s).  More on the craft project(s) shortly which is not complicated but needs a little time and patience.

Next time I go on a little shopping excursion it will probably be to Hobbycraft to see what they have by way of seasonal inspiration and ideas.  I always make at least one trip to Hobbycraft before Christmas arrives to allow for time in making items.  Not sure when that will be probably in the next few weeks.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Catch you soon.
