A Change of Plans

I am not going shopping tomorrow, as planned, apart from a little food shopping.  I have decided to discipline myself and crack on with what needs to be dealt with whilst G is out of the way.  Well at least as much as I can do whilst he is absent.  I can reconvene the main shopping (not food shopping)for another time.  Will work with what I have and then see what mischief I can get up to in the meantime.

There is a lot of work to deal with, and I have found myself "bitting" and "bobbing" about all over the shop in the last couple of weeks or so.  That has to stop as I produce more work if I am allowed to focus on the matter in hand.

After all the wind, and torrential rain of the last few days, today we have had the Sun out to play and it has been very welcome, although it has been a much colder day.  The Sun seems to put a different complexion on everything.  Tonight though it has gone bitterly cold.

My Cacti is also in full bloom a beautiful pink colour, that really bought a smile to my face when I saw it especially as I have been a little down.   Nature is a wonderful thing.

Today has I am glad to say been a very focused day.  I have done a little sorting out with tidying in the back garden.  I still have a long way to go, but it is a start.  As a result there is a lot of rubbish again and another tip run is due possibly on Wednesday.  Tomorrow is a no go because of G fishing.  In any event I always double wrap any rubbish that we take to the tip and we popped out for new extra strong bags earlier on so that I can do this and make sure everything is kept clean.

More tidying and cleaning is also going on.  I will get there in the end.

I also want to get some bread made this week and also some baking of one sort or another.

A top up will happen on Friday of this week on the food front specifically as I need eggs, onions, a sack of potatoes, and plenty of fresh veg and fruit.  We are going to pay a visit to a local farm shop that we have not been to before where prices are also meant to be very good.  From the photos that I have seen the produce is excellent more along the lines of the veg I used to get from my local Veg shop before they closed the doors.  The beauty is that a lot of the veggies are grown locally so minimum miles and from what we have seen far exceed the quality of supermarket veg with the advantage of no plastic wrap.  I am hoping that it exceeds what we have heard about as I want to get some homemade meals up on the Pantry shelf including stews, soups, sauces, stocks, gravies etc. So we will see what we will see on Friday.  We thought that the shop was open all week but it turns out that it is only open on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday as otherwise we would have paid a visit today.  But there we are, it is a good job I checked the opening hours.

Tonight's tea was a warming homemade "Cottage Pie" which has gone down a treat and warmed us up from the inside out.  Very welcome it was too as I was starving!

Tomorrow we have a Lamb cooked dinner with veggies for tea.  Looking forward to that too.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Catch you soon.
