Crashed and Monday Roundup
For the past couple of days I have felt very off colour, culminating yesterday with my eyes watering constantly and a severe lack of energy. I therefore went to bed early. I thought I was brewing for a cold as I have been sneezing a lot. As I was cold and shivery in any event (despite the heating being on) it was the best place for me. I crashed out and slept for a good six hours before being woken by Missy who was asking for going out. This morning I feel so much more with it and my eyes are not sore. Right upwards and onwards.
In respect of the boxes I ordered yesterday from TK Maxx, I am not sure whether they will be delivered today or tomorrow. I suspect tomorrow though as it was late when I placed the order. I therefore think it will be tomorrow when they are delivered. So pleased to have located these; very chuffed indeed. There were some other ones as well that I had seen in their shop when I initially went in-store that are also available on the website. However am grateful to have found these. Something simple and practical but oh so needed to sort and store some of my nicer dining items into.
I will pop up a post shortly with some of the items that I have managed to pick up for Christmas in the past couple of weeks or so which will all add something to my collection.
I have just been pottering here and there today. More washing has been done. More has yet to be done. With this horrible wet weather though am having to rely more on the Tumble Drier.
Weather has been wet, damp and grey here today. I just wish I had a proper fire or log fire to cuddle up next too. There is something very honest about a proper fire. As a child I would often be found laying in front of the fire on the fireside rug, often reading a book and enjoying the warmth of a fire. A proper fire for me always affords a different type of comfort, ambience and pleasure especially when a room is lit only by firelight. They are hard work, however anything worth doing is worth a bit of effort. I also remember helping Mum clean and set the new fire of a morning, by making paper splints and then turning them into fire lighting balls to help the fire start up quickly. This was prior to my brother being born I am some 3- 1/2 years older than he is. Oh well, one can dream! Maybe one day.
I was going to go shopping again tomorrow, that was the plan. In any event I have changed my mind, and will go next week all being well. Tomorrow instead I will potter at home and do what I can where I can. There is always a lot to do here. I might tackle the dining room a little bit more. I have a box of decorations lurking in there which I need out. From what I remember there is still a bit of space in them into which to add some of my recent acquisitions.
I think I mentioned in a recent post that I have a fascination with Christmas trees and wanted to have a go at making a Christmas tree quilt for next Christmas. I have started doing some research on You Tube and saving tutorials etc. of the ones I am interested in. I am very much looking at simple patterns. I will have a look at those, and will probably have a go in the New Year. Will probably start with a simple pattern to start with to make a cushion cover before tackling the quilt to get used to the technique. At least I can sort out the cutting out side of things as a starter for ten! Will just have to see how things go.
G is fishing tomorrow and so will be babysitting Missy and Mischief. Will catch up with my cousin later in the morning and find out what is going on in his neck of the woods! He lives in Wales! Lucky Devil!
I am off to potter again.
Have a lovely evening.
Catch you soon.
