Double Take
The fridge was completed last night and now I have the task of filling it up again! I have done a little shopping on the veg front and some fruit, which has now been put away in the fridge.
Today though, I did manage to go shopping for a little while, but not to all the shops I had planned on going to. There is always another day and G will be fishing on Tuesday again.
I could not make my mind up but after pinging backwards and forwards as to which shops I was going to go to today. I eventually decided on a re-visit to the shops I visited the other day, principally to see if M & S had added any more Christmas items to their display stand. They had a little bit, however I am still not impressed. I did however buy two more Santa Mugs! I shall never go to heaven.
*I also went back into TK Maxx I was hoping and praying that they had more of the boxes that I bought the other day. Sadly not, (I knew I should have bought them then) but I did buy another couple of boxes today that match each other. The boxes are for storing some of my formal dining items in such as napkin rings, napkins, tableware, silk candle decorations and other bits and bob's that are used for dining. I have thoughts that maybe one day I will be able to buy in an armoire style cabinet with shelving that I will be able to keep a lot of these sorts of items in especially my drinking glasses, liqueur glasses, Champagne glasses and Coupes etc. However, in the meantime I also need the boxes to store said items in because of the lack of storage and at least this way on I will not be "bitting" about all over the shop looking for things. I also bought in some Christmas paper napkins, initially for decorating some candles with, but also to use on the table as napkins which is their main use. I also found a lovely candle (a bit pricey), it is a figurine to use afterwards though. The candle is scented with Cinnamon and depicts a pair of Ice Skates, with the replica blades on the bottom. Very chuffed with this. I like items that can have a second use,
I then nipped into the Pound shop. Still have not seen half the items that everyone else seems to be getting from there. However, I did manage to get some LED lights for wrapping around my garlands for the Dresser. I have Eucalyptus garlands and white Snowberry decorations for the Dining room. I was therefore pleased to find these. I also bought in three small Santa mugs; these are a lot smaller than the M & S ones for only £2 each. I did ask if they had anymore in store, but was told not at present. So will go back another time - I need to go for some other Christmas bits and bobs.
I then stocked up on some essential items for the kitchen, items I tend to forget about and so today decided to deal with them to get them out of the way with. I came away with the following:
- Two packs of Extra Large Turkey foil;
- Two packs of Baking Parchment on a roll;
- Two packs of Baking Parchment sheets;
- Two packs of ordinary foil.
