Today

After yesterday's beautiful sunny weather and a lot more comfortable than damp days,  today has been a showery one, although have had the windows open to let some fresh air in.

I have been in the kitchen.  I decided in my infinite wisdom that today would be cooker cleaning day.  Ughh! Do you ever start something and then wished you had not.  Well that has been the story of my day.  In any event deep clean on my Gas cooker has commenced and I have had the glass out of the doors, on the small oven, the burners to pieces on the hob and the glass top all squeaky clean.

Overnight the two ovens will be left with cleaner on them to deep clean the ovens.  The glass on the larger oven was taken out and cleaned.  The shelves for the small oven are outside on some newspaper covered in cleaner.  They have since been turned and the second load of cleaner added.  I have the shelves for the main oven to do this way as well. Only half way through at the time of writing this post.  Then it will be time to don the bright yellow Marigolds and get stuck in on the shelves with a scourer to make sure it all comes off.  Hopefully by tomorrow the ovens will be all squeaky clean. Then it will be a job of adding some WD40 to the hinges to make sure that we do not have any squeaks and have a smooth action when opening and closing both the small oven door and the large oven one.  Then I can get the pans back in to the ovens freshly lined with foil already to be used.  That will certainly be a good job out of the way with.

The washer has been on again as has the tumbler.  Work in Progress for a few days as I got a little bit of a stockpile due to all the rain that we have had.

I have more washing up to do.  Never-ending here at the moment as I have had items out of the cupboard to wash and then put back in as well as other items to get put away.

I nipped to the shop earlier on and bought a couple of newspapers for cleaning the oven.  Ouch had not realised that they had gone up so much.  A necessary evil though to give the oven a really thorough deep clean.

I have some food items to squeeze in the Pantry.  Hopefully will be able to start work on the Pantry from Wednesday next week as that really needs a good bottoming out and a good sort out so that I can find things.  I will just get in what I can until then.

For tea we have another salad.  Easier for me at the moment to not have to cook although G got his cooked breakfast yesterday and today. He did make a remark this morning along the lines of he is starting to twitch with all the salad he has been having.  Will not do him any harm.  Depending on time constraints I might cook a hot meal tomorrow.  It depends on how matters progress.

It will be a late night tonight as I have a lot of work to do.  All of it needs a bit of time and effort, but hopefully will gradually get through it all.  It will also be an early start again tomorrow to carry on in the kitchen.
