Non-Conformist
I do not like being cooped up in a box, let alone being micro-managed. Too much of a free spirit runs through my blood.
I have been cooped up at home with the Shingles and it is driving me mad. Yesterday I therefore escaped and did a little shopping. It was safe for me to do so. There will be a post shortly as to what I got up to, However the liberation was very much needed. I only did about half of what I had intended to do, as I came over a little weary and so came home earlier and then rested for a while.
I have had copious amounts of sleep - sleeping for England, but that does help with the healing. I am still hurting - nerve tingling and discomfort, cannot wear a bra and am still itching. I am also very drained energy wise, which is to be expected in the circumstances.
Today was the day when I was supposed to have the first of the two injections required for the Shingles vaccination. It did not happen. The nurse I saw today who was supposed to give me the injection is the one who made a mess of me on bloods a while back. This particular Nurse is very lovely natured but if she is unsure of anything she whittles. She left me in the room for over 10 minutes on my own whilst she was supposedly sorting out the vaccination. When she came back she had spoken to one of the Doctors who preferred to leave it a few more weeks before dealing with the inoculation. An appointment has been made for 11 May when hopefully everything will have settled down.
As a consequence of this, my Covid vaccination has been delayed even further
On another separate matter they have also decided on further bloods and sample respectively. The sample kit can be dealt with in a straightforward fashion. Bloods will be taken on 29 April. I suspect this is because there is another hospital appointment coming up.
At least now I have an outline on how things are to progress with the medics for the time being.
On other issues. The computer has been causing problems today. In the end traced problems back to the keyboard and the mouse. Have therefore spent quite some time trying to sort this out, but in the end that there was nothing I could do. I have therefore invested in a new keyboard. Have bought an ergonomic keyboard again which is better for my hands and a new Mouse to go with it. Hopefully that should sort out the computer issues.
I bought the new board and Mouse from Currys. First of all we were kept waiting in a queue by a family of four. Wife was placing and paying for an order but when she found out delivery period she called her husband back as things were beginning to back up at the till - only one operator. Then he kept everyone waiting because his daughters were uncontrollable. He hadn't got a care in the world. Then another young assistant tried to help. We went to three tills to try and pay - none of the portals were working. In the end got to pay on the fourth portal.
Whilst I have been poorly I have been off my food - not wanting much to eat, but knowing that I have to eat something in any one day.
I have a specific love of Sardines in Tomato Sauce or Pilchards on hot buttery toast with a sprinkling of vinegar. G eats most things he just cannot deal with this. My Saturday night tea was subsequently this and boy did I enjoy it. I had some Sourdough bread which I had lightly toasted and it was delicious. The fish will potentially help start to build my system up again.
Also after being out on Sunday for a while I came back and had some more of the Sourdough bread with crunchy peanut butter. That was lush too. Just simple food but tasty and full of goodness.
Sunday night's tea was Rump steak, fried onions, coleslaw, mushrooms, some of my strong cheese grated, a little salad and some baked buttery potatoes. I did not finish it all off but I did enjoy it.
Equally this evening g has been a right proper grump about what he wanted to eat. In the end I just did something that he did not want, but he has eaten it and downed the lot. We have had Prawn cocktail in a bowl with bread and butter. Followed by Strawberries and cream. Now nicely full.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening.
Catch you soon.
