Crafting

I managed to get to Hobbycraft again for a short visit today.  OH wanted to go to TK Max as he wanted some new trousers so whilst he was there I started a proper browse around and picked up several bits and bobs to go with WIP projects and with my New Big Shot.  There were hardly any Big Shot machines left for sale today.  They had a few dies but not ones I was interested in.

However I did buy some more embossing folders another Tattered Lace set called Fretwork Lace £13 for four folders and a couple of Xcut Embossing Folders a round frame and a square frame which are highly detailed and will be ideal for border cards.  These were £5 apiece.

I also bought an Easy Rose Cutter Template for making paper Roses.

I also bought three pigment ink pads in bottle green, red and blue.£1 apiece.  I do have a lot of stamps anyway that I have had for quite some time to use with them.

I also bought four sheets of felt for Christmas decorations to be worked in the New Year.

I also bought wool for a baby blanket I had promised a work colleague in a lovely mint and white colour.  The wool I have chosen is a Women's Institute wool.

I was casting my eye longingly over the patchwork fabric.  However I left that for the time being as I have the stripped down shirt fabric to play with to start with.  I bought the basic ruler today to get me a step further to doing this.  Need to get the square and the larger ones but they will come in time.  Besides I want to go to Kisco in Leicester to the fabric warehouse.  OH has promised to take me there sometime soon.

One of the things I do need to do is to get my craft stuff organised which it sadly is not at the moment.  That would make my life an awful lot easier.  It will happen.  I will go and see if I can get a couple of see through drawers to store things in.  Hopefully they will be in the sale.

I am looking to some that Wilkinsons have at the moment. I bought two originally for my crafting but ended up having to use them as storage for my cooking bits and bobs and utensils as I do not have drawers in the kitchen.

I have been on the Create and Craft Site as well to see what they have on there.  This could get expensive as there is so much in the way of choice.  I am however interested in the patchwork dies and Christmas dies. I am not terribly confident with a Rotary cutter.

I am very much looking forward to going to Colemans Craft Warehouse this weekend as I know that when I went before they had quite a selection of dies so I will have a real good look there. I also bought quite a few bits and bobs then. I also want cards, papers, acetate, powders and a clear stamping pad that I can use with the shimmer powders. All bits that I do not have but will get there in the end.  I already have a heat gun some toppers, foam pads for decoupage and various other bits and bobs.  So I have quite a bit to play with and from what I understand the dies and the stamps and the embossing folders can be used in more than one way so lots to discover and to learn.

Right I must get some tea.  We are having cheese and cold meats with chutney pickles etc. for tea and very much looking forward to it.

Catch you Later.

  1. Create and craft is quite good Pattypan for patchwork items and prices - I joined the club to get my sewing machine a little cheaper last March and have had a few other things like templates since. They also have a quilting master class once a month at 8am on a Sunday morning. I think Aldi have got those clear storage units on offer either this Thursday or next Sunday if thats any help Good luck with the crafting xxx

  2. Hi Trudie

Thanks for that. I have been wondering for a while whether or not to join the club. Is the quilting masterclass with Jenny Rayment or with one of the other presenters. I will have a look at the Aldi site and see if can drag OH down there. He has been relatively good over the holidays taking me out and about so I do not want to take the Michael. Take care and thank you. Pattypan x
