Talking Bottles

This is not an advertisement for the following company, but a pure endorsement from my own perspective, privately and independently without receiving any remuneration.  This company are quite purely the best as far as I am concerned and I thought I would share them with you.  Everything I have ever had from them has been delivered well packaged and in excellent condition.

The company I am speaking of is a well-established family business called C Wynne Jones who are based in Wales.

They do not just sell jars and bottles, they also sell Beekeeping equipment, Aromatherapy supplies, preserving equipment. beer and wine bottles with appropriate closures etc.

I have been using them on and off for the past 6 years or more.  I do not purchase every year - it depends whether I need any more bottles.

Here is the link to the bottles that I use.

You get 60 bottles in a batch and the current price is £21.40 for these bottles.  You will have to buy separate closures/lids but these are not expensive.

I use these bottles both for storing ketchups and sauces in as well as cordials, syrups, home made liqueurs and fruit coulis.  The reasons I opt for this size bottle are that

  • It fits perfectly into a preserving pan for "bottling" the contents so that they keep longer on the pantry shelf.
  • They fit into my baby sterilisers' for hot water bath processing "bottling".
  • The larger bottles that are available are lovely but not practical.  A large bottle is also difficult to heat process as a lot of the time the necks are out of the water unless you have a specialist pan.
  • If you open a big bottle of cordial you may end up not using all the contents, which kind of defeats the purpose of preserving as far as I am concerned.
  • I have found these bottles to be an ideal size for OH and myself.  If we have company we just open more bottles.  All the bottles are recyclable and you can get replacement lids.
  • Using the baby sterilisers' for hot water bottle processing is far simpler than lugging a large pan onto the top of your cooker full of water the added bonus is that once you have this going you just set your timer and let it process and switch off and let the contents cool before drying them down and then labelling them and stocking them in your pantry.

This company is well worth a look at.

Catch you soon.
