Momentum is gathering pace

It is another grey wet day more like a winter day much like yesterday.  The damp is crippling me up again and yesterday was difficult in that I went really cold again on the inside after having another bad Raynaud's attack.  So much so I chucked an extra quilt on the bed last night as I was still very cold.  Fortunately on my side as OH does not feel the cold but he does not like to be hot.  So very uneasy bedfellows.  This morning I am a little warmer but still not back up to normal.  It kind of knocks the stuffing out of you for a bit.  The worst bit is that I have lots to do and little time to do it.  Don't seem to have time to do things in between seems to be a roller coaster of events at the moment. Tiz just the depth folks, just the depth that varies.

Yesterday we met friends for breakfast and it was nice to get out and socialise, albeit with caution.  Because I went so cold yesterday I ended up resting when we came back which is not what I had in mind at all.

Today I am pottering trying to do a little here and there but nothing really constructive.

We went to Dunhelm last week and got some of the things we need for the caravan sorted.  I brought them in the other night as they were in the boot of the car.  They needed to be relocated as we needed to go to the tip.

Tomorrow the tow bar is to be fitted to the car.  This is a home visit where the fitters come to you.  Whilst they are engaged with OH I may well go into town as there are some household bits that I have run out of.

Next Tuesday is when we take possession of the caravan so all the things purchased thus far will go to the caravan then and free up some more space in the house.  We do have waste systems, gas bottles, water bottles, chairs and table plus other items to purchase yet for the van.  OH has to have a TV but has indicated will get one with a DVD player in so that I can take a few of my DVDs with me. I am quite happy curled up either listening to the radio or DVD and working on some of my crafting at the same time. However we will be able to sort those out once we have the van and get things how we want them next week. We have to be considerate of what we do put in there though because there is a weight restriction for the van.

Our first holiday will be a quiet break for the pair of us and Missy.  We have not had a proper holiday for about 11 years.  It is primarily for us to work out a routine of what is what with the caravan, how things work, whether anything needs attention and also rest and recuperation time.  We are mindful though of current problems and do not want to impact too much on the area we are going to.  We intend to keep ourselves to ourselves as much as possible with lots of walking but not necessarily going to venues where there are likely to be lots of people around.  For me it is going to be primarily some serious crafting time.  OH will go fishing a bit so both will be content.

I have just realised that I did not give an update on Missy.  After her teeth were removed we started to get our lively little Jack Russell back.  We had thought that we were going to lose her as the arthritis has been quite bad, she was depressed in herself, did not want to walk hardly and had no interest in snuffling and wandering around as she was apt to do in the past.  However she has been put on long term pain killers and she is trotting around like she used to and also running around again.  She is eating well  wants to play with her ball again.  All things that had gone by the wayside before.  She has gone flat-footed and her front paws are slightly deformed so we do have to keep her nails trimmed.  However, she is an old lady!  However, otherwise she is very much enjoying life again which we are really pleased about

Right am off to potter again.  I hope the rest of the day is a good one for you.

Catch you soon.

  1. How exciting to be making plans for trips with the caravan and to go out and choose what it needs to get it looking tickety boo!

Sorry to read you have been poorly again. Sounds really nasty. I don't blame you having an extra quilt on the bed.

I was awake and up and doing at 5 a.m. this morning (baking). Around 9 I thought I would go back to bed for a bit, only to find Keith had stripped it! I had a nap on the sofa instead.
