Real Life
We had the cats booked in for their injections yesterday in readiness for their sojourn at a local cattery. We duly took them, they behaved themselves beautifully; the Nurses thought they were lovely. I had warned them that Molly in particular if she did not like something you were doing was likely to nip or bite or indeed push you out the way with her paw, but apparently she was an absolutely good girl. I also had them micro-chipped as well. However, it turned out that after the deed was done I then had to bring them back to the surgery in effect whilst we were on our first week's holiday for their second injection. I had not appreciated this or indeed been told about it but I was told categorically that if they did not have the second injection within a three week period of the first then we would have to start again with the injections and pay again. This kind of threw a spanner in the works as we were told to go to speak to the cattery to see if they could bring them in whilst we were away. To my mind this kind of was a bone of contention as most and I think all catteries for the protection of their other visitors require the cats to be vaccinated before taking up residence. This caused a bit of thought and in the end we have chosen to delay our holiday by a week in order to ensure that the cats get their next injections in the required time space. Fortunately we have been able to do this. I phoned to confirm with the cattery this morning and they were able to make a change in the dates. I explained that we had had a bit of a hiccup in the schedule and that we had delayed the holiday as a result. They were very grateful for this and were happy to transfer the booking over without any loss of remuneration on both sides. They did mention that because of the Covid pandemic most Vets surgeries were adding in extra safeguards. I have also booked the next appointment with the vets just to be absolutely sure. The first possible date they can have an appointment is 22nd and so they are booked in for then. Phew thankfully back on track.
Unusually both Molly and Mischief did not seem to mind the car. Every other cat we have had has played merry hell and has not stopped wowing. These two were brilliant. Even took them to the caravan in their carriers and opened the boot up for them to enjoy the fresh air once we got there as well as top them up on their drink.
The van is to have some work carried out soon on it. OH is having a Motormover put on it to make things easier for him getting the van back into its parking bay or indeed to site it at whichever park we are going to. It is a big old van and you cannot shift it by pushing. We have tried. There are a couple of other jobs that need doing under the guarantee as well.
At least in the long run we have now the arrangements in hand for the cats which is a big relief and a new date for our holiday which I am very much looking forward to.
I am waiting for some photos to load for another post and Google seems to be taking its time at downloading.
Right am off to potter. Kitchen things to attend to.
Catch you soon.
