I pulled an all nighter

In an effort to get the house in particular the dining room a little more square than it was. Intend to go to bed about 10am and then up again about 2:00pm to 3:00pm.  Then start again.

By the way I found another box of tinned stuff.  I thought I had got everything on the shelf.  It is now all precariously balanced.  I hope we do not have an earthquake.  Well anything is possible.  As I said I seem to have far more stuff than I thought.  Over the next week or so it is going to need another sort out.

Have decided that tomorrow afternoon when I do get up I am going to sort the fireside cupboard out first.  I will strip it out, wash it and then let it dry and then set too and paint the innards.  I can then get some more troublesome fragile stuff out of the way with.  Well the top half of the cupboard at least.  I am not going into the bottom part until next week when I will deal with the glory hole.  I have some damp proof paint for this cupboard.  Although it is not damp, I know that fireside cupboards can get a little that way so better safe than sorry.

I managed to break my small dehydrator amongst some other things yesterday. I have been good.  They are going to the tip and indeed are residing in the car.  It is all electrical stuff to go to the tip. Hopefully G will take it soon then we can continue with progress being made.  I have decided to take a leaf out of an internet friend's strategy and am going to start and save a few pennies here and there as some equipment I need to replace.  My Masterchef food processor is the best I have ever had and that is the main piece of equipment I need to replace.  I used it so much ideal for pates, peanut butter making homemade stuffings, beautiful chocolate mousse all sorts of goodies.  I also need a new Kenwood with blender.  I really do miss this as it was the mainstay of all my baking.  Even if it is only £1 here or there, I am determined that I am eventually going to be able to replace these fantastic pieces of equipment.  There are other pieces of equipment, but that will be one day.

There has been loads of rubbish that has gone out too, and the floors have been scrubbed, the oven cleaned out.  Washing machine has been on full pelt as well.

By the time you read this I will probably be fast asleep.  I can have an earlier night tomorrow if needs be, but to get stuff done need to do this.

Catch you all later in the day.

  1. I get to 8 p.m. and I've had it - have to recharge my batteries then. That said, I will happily get up at 5 a.m. to go to Malvern Flea (it had to be 3.30 a.m. when we live in Carms, an hour and a half further away). It sounds like everything is going to plan for you anyway.

    1. Hi BB, I should not do it. It gets a bit dicey with the epilepsy. I end up not feeling very well and my body rebels! I have to find an easier way around this. Gone are the days when I could party all night and go to a Champagne breakfast and not go to bed until the evening. I do not think I could even do the early starts for the car boots these days (when you get all the best bargains). At least with the Pantry despite being hard work is more or less together and where I need it to be. Just a little more work so that I can get things set up for the year. You take care sweetie xx

  2. It isn't possible for me to stay up that long anymore. Time has caught up to me. It sounds like you won't need to buy pantry staples for a long time.

    1. Hi Sandra, I was pushing it and should not really do it as it upsets my epilepsy and makes me vulnerable to attacks. I am going to have to do more elsewhere rather than pull an all nighter. Less impact for me. I am grateful that the Pantry staples are there after initially thinking that I did not have much. Feeling very blessed in that respect. You take care too Tricia xx
