More Work - the start of much more
Whilst the weather is good but hot, hot hot. Not moaning really enjoying but I hit a threshold with the heat like I do with the cold. Cannot be too hot cannot be too cold.
This morning started early; I was awake at 4:00pm - have not heard the cockerel again so whether someone has complained I do not know. Hopefully will hear again as for me a Cockerel is the sound of the morning.
I have had the washing machine on again a few times. Bedding today including the quilt seemed a good time to get this done as hardly any covers on at night at the moment so wanted everything nice and fresh for when I do need them. The thicker ones can then be put away until they are needed again. Not sure I will get to the ironing tonight, but maybe tomorrow night. I need to get all the washing ironed onto hangers, for airing and then into the wardrobe or indeed into the chests of drawers. I have to go into the kitchen today in any event as this really needs tackling but at least most of the washing has been done for now.
We have been out in the front garden again this morning. G has managed to chop up all the branches from the Holly tree. He cannot take much more off of it as the large steps we have are not tall enough and safe enough for him to get up higher. (He is not keen on heights in any event). I have however managed to get rid of all the weeds on the outside of the garden and given the wall a good clear down as there was a lot of moss growing in certain parts. Also given a good sweep up. Still a load more to do but at the moment trying to do something each day when we can. All the trimmings and some garden waste I have in the back garden need to go down to the tip but that will be for in the week. I cannot strip the gravel until all that waste is gone and then it will be heavy duty gloves job to pick out all the holly leaves, then will clean the windows and the doorway. Anything do throws up dust so the windows and door will be last on the list. I would also like to get a couple of planters sorted for the front garden which can be skewered down with some tent pegs. Will see what I can do. Just needs a bit of something to cheer things up a bit. I think I have already mentioned that I am going to pop up two ivy conical hanging baskets I planted up a while back and which are under the Bay tree at the moment.
Speaking of the Bay tree have spoken to G about this and he will over the next few days give it a hair cut. I will at this point dry as many Bay leaves as I can, together with a collection of leaves later in the year to use in cooking. I ran out at the beginning of last year and fortunately I had put a few others up. So like the mint I need to put up more of these than I think I need as I do use a couple for gravies in every meal I cook.
Whilst sat having a very much needed cup of tea and a biscuit as a treat, I came to the conclusion that a change of plan was needed as to which room am going to be tackling next. Am starting in the front bedroom where all the clothes are stored. Need to reclaim that room and get things sorted for normal everyday life. After the kitchen is done I think I am going to be in here for a few days at least. It is long overdue and needs doing. So looks as though will be concentrating on here first and foremost. The job I will be doing now from Wednesday of this week going forwards needs me to get things a bit more in order at home first. At least this way on I will be able to get all my books out of the bedroom and into the dining room for then going into the Lounge when we get there. It is shuffle systems but it is what it is. I think also the double set of polythene drawers I have in the bedroom will be liberated for use for storing my hand utensils and equipment in at long last.
Traditionally when cleaning I have always started with my bedroom and worked through upstairs and then going downstairs, to the front room, dining room, kitchen and then bathroom. Have found that most things find their home this way on. I will be very pleased to get this room done and dusted. The back bedroom for the present I am not doing anything in and the study gets done out every week in any event. So the front bedroom it is. Going to take a few days this is and probably more than a week!
Tea tonight is another salad. We have to choose from Pork Pie, Yorkshire Ham, Roast Beef, different salads, coleslaw, new potatoes, boiled eggs, cheese, celery, red onion or white onion, grated carrot, beetroot, cherry tomatoes with bread and butter to finish off. There is also corned beef, or Tuna if a slightly different direction tickles the fancy. If a pudding is required or fancied there is always a tin of fruit with some cream. So a very easy tea to get together and so suitable for this hot weather.
Tomorrow we have a chicken curry with simple white Basmati rice and Naan bread. I just need some yogurt but will get that tomorrow.
I am going to be back in the kitchen for a little while. More washing to bring in and put out so will be pottering for a while downstairs on my todd.
I hope everyone has a lovely evening.
Catch you soon.
