Shattered
Been a full on couple of days at the house. It is a bit clearer but we still have a long way to go. Now have some space and going to start going through bags and boxes bit by bit, sort out what I am going to keep and then pass the rest either on to a charity shop or sell it. I pulled a late one last night it was 2:00am when I eventually got to bed and then I was up for 6:00am and it has been non-stop ever since. Tomorrow I am not doing much but I am definitely having an early night tonight. My body feels as though it does not belong to me; lots of cuts and scratches little niggly ones and my hands and knees are now swollen so I do need to rest up, however as I have said I will do some other jobs. After tomorrow it will be all systems go again. I am very committed on getting things sorted. I did pop around to the Charity shop this morning with a few bits and bobs of crockery and some China which I no longer have a use for. Yes I was good and passed some pieces on. Need to lighten up some items. I shall order in some more boxes shortly and as I sort I will pack what I am going to keep. If then we are in a position at a later date to live elsewhere the packing will be done. Well that is my logic and it is a way to trying to bring things back under control.
Even though our boiler which is an Ideal one is very efficient and for the best part (although this is a cold house) keeps the temperature ambient I do miss having a proper airing cupboard. The old boiler used to be in the old chimney stack in the kitchen (which I now have my small electric cooker and microwave in). The big copper water tank used to be in a cupboard in the bedroom (which has now been turned into a mini wardrobe space). The new boiler is now on the wall in the smallest room which is the study/computer room/craft room. a bit unsightly but that is where they placed it. There is no cabinetry surrounding it. By choice I would prefer a proper walk in airing cupboard with the appropriate shelving. Maybe one day in the dream house. If "wishes were fishes" life would be a lot easier for us all. However, we all learn from this mortal coil, which gives us knowledge and experience from those things we have been through, often that experience helps others.
Tonight's tea has been a Lamb, mint and Rosemary tray bake which has gone down very nicely.
We are out for an early breakfast on Saturday with the children and grandchildren as it is G's 70th birthday. Shush I have not told you! The kids know he loves a proper breakfast and so decided to treat him in this way. No doubt I shall cook him something nice for his tea or even take him out for a meal either Saturday or Sunday. Will see what he would like to do.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening.
Catch you later on.
