Schedule of Plans from Wednesday moving forward Part One

it is going to be a busy week this week moving forward.  This will be as a result of the new mains Electric panel being installed on Tuesday.  As a result my work this week necessarily begins on Wednesday.  This is Part One of an outline plan I have of dealing with matters that need addressing moving forward. No time restrictions just need to get both jobs done and dusted.  They will be finished when they are finished. However I do intend to get stuck in as I cannot tackle other areas until these two are sorted.  There are items that need to go into these storage areas which are currently in areas they should not be, which is restricting access.  Some of the items mentioned have been covered before and work anticipated, but real life has got in the way and things have not been completed as I had hoped and for whatever reason work stopped.  Fingers crossed will get this all done soon.  I am itching to get on with the Dining Room and get that decorated out and wallpapered.  Although I suspect that there will be frayed tempers and a steep learning curve on my part.

Little Cupboard Under the stairs

  1. Go into the Little Cupboard under the stairs and sweep out any debris and dust.
  2. To dampen the dust down then wash the cupboard out completely.
  3. Allow to dry for an hour or two.
  4. Go into the cupboard and start to see where the plaster is a bit dodgy and then start tackling that with wall filler.  Allow it to dry.  The following day:
  5. Sand down the wall filler, clean up any dust and debris.  Wash down the walls again in readiness for starting the painting the next day.
  6. Start the painting; allow to dry.
  7. Do the next coat.
  8. Purchase wood trim for creating an edge around the existing shelfing to stop the jars falling off the shelf.  Get that installed. Wipe it down and allow to dry.  Then start painting the shelves. Allow to dry.
  9. Next day, check to see if it needs a second coat, if it does then do this.  Allow to dry for a day or two.
  10. Get the flooring installed.
  11. Get a new ceiling globe.
  12. Get the shelf covering installed.
  13. Get the door sanded down, and coated with yacht varnish to protect it.
Fireside Cupboard
This is a floor to ceiling cupboard consisting of two large cupboards

Starting with the Top Cupboard
  1. Get the Cupboard stripped out.
  2. Take out the shelf lining paper.
  3. Give it a good hoover to remove any dust or debris.
  4. Give it a good wash down and allow to dry.
  5. Patch up the plaster.   Allow to dry.
  6. Next day sand it down.
  7. Add in shelf edging to stop anything falling off the shelf as preserve glass jars are going to be on the shelves.
  8. Start Painting out.  Allow to dry.
  9. The next day check to see if needs a second coat.  If it does paint and allow to dry.
  10. Get replacement shelf covering installed.
  11. Get the cupboard doors stripped and washed down. Sand them.
  12. Paint them, allow to dry.
  13. Check the next day to see if the paint has covered if not add a second coat.
  14. Allow to dry.
  15. Add new handles.
The same routine will be used for the bottom cupboard

Because of waiting times for filler to dry and set and for paint to dry there will necessarily be other jobs that I will start in the background. However we will see how things progress moving forward.  I want these jobs sorting done and dusted and out of the way with as I have lots more to do.  The garden may feature here as I can go between jobs whilst waiting for filler and paint to dry and can do a bit then go back to the decorating or the garden.  Sometimes you have to chip away at other projects in segments a bit at a time.

Wish me luck moving forward.

Catch you soon.
